These two will play their semifinal game of 8A in a neutral site of East Grand Forks. The only other time these two teams met was less than 3 weeks ago where Crookston lost at home by a score of 1-2. Now they are on a 2 game win streak, Park Rapids a 2 game lose streak, who will get to face Warroad at the same site 2 days later?

I know nothing about these 2 teams, and after looking at schedules and results it didn't make me feel as if I knew anymore about them,
But just for the heck of it I'll go with the Crooks by 1... and then they're done!

I see a C-town victory here. The Pirates are seeking revenge on the Panthers.
Pirates- 3
Panthers- 2
Brett Lien will score twice for Crookston

Personally, if I had to pick a dark horse in all of State, it would be Crookston. This could be a really good game. Then they Warroad and a win puts them up against TRF or East Grand Forks. They lost to Warroad twice, both by one goal, shut out TRF 1-0 and lost 2-6, lost to EGF 1-2 and beat them 5-2. They also beat Fargo South 5-2. All this really means nothing aside from they are probably capable of making it out and know what they have to do to make it out. Just my two cents.

Without a doubt, it will be Crookston.
Since 1996, Crookston is 5-0 in quarterfinal round as the #5 seed.
Since 1996, Crookston is 8-3 in the quarterfinal round.

This game should be one of the more exciting games in the section 8a playoffs. I'm goin to watch this game with some former PR hockey players so it will be fun to watch the Pirates beating Panthers.
3-2 Pirates

From the game these two played earlier this year i have to say that i thought they were very evenly matched. Both are strong defensive teams, sound goalies and good d-men. I think that PR has the edge in offense with Lehrke up front. Should be a fast paced, fun game, I can't wait to watch.

Although i would really love to see PR win so that i could watch them get crushed by warroad on saturday, i can't see crox losing this one. And like HShockeywatcher said, Crox is the dark horse of the section.

This one could easily go either way so I will take the Pirates by 1 in OT. Section 8A is wide open this year & Crookston is a legitimate darkhorse, unfortunately I so not see them putting up three big wins in a row. Hopefully they can prove me wrong. GO PIRATES

Crookston must be physical and insitgate contact to win this contest. Coach Eades of Warroad once upon a time preached a "Hundred Hits". Well Pirates, that's your mission. Shots on net or offensive zone faceoffs will not be the key stats here. Rather, it will be the number of missing Panther contact lenses and snotty facemasks.
Be physical but smart. Not clutching, no grabin, no hooking, no holdin, no errant elbows. Two hands on the stick and nothing but shoulders. Nothing dumb away from the play, behind the play, in front of the play, or in the attacking zone. Punish the puck carrier, find your man, and clog up the sheet.
