Who has the edge?

EGF has the edge, because they are at home.

Crox has the edge because they are playing better hockey now. And their goalie is hot

Dem pi-rates will win.

Eastside will get revenge for a earlier season lost to crookston and plus there at home.

This could go either way. I'll say:

EGF 2

Crookston 4-2

Its gonna be close i say 3-2 OT Crox.

who has Crookston beat lately?

i know they beat Bismark High in a tournment in DL. but egf has to win these games coming up to get a good seed in the tourney. i see them winning this one.

I believe they played the Bismarck games in Bimarck not in DL correct me if i am incorrect though.

As much as I hate to say this da Eastsiders will take care of the Pirates by 1 or maybe 2. However this dosen't mean much as the Pirates will upright der ship and sail past EGF in the sections.

As I said on another Thread, I am now flip flopping. (Maybe I'm related to Kerry, if you believe in that stuff).

T's...You've got a much better graphic going for the Wave, that athletic department letterhead was a little W I D E.

Weeks ago I said these team would split the deuce. That's the way it's been for a long time, but this Pirate team needs to reverse a lot of things about its history, and it could start with a sweep of their HWY 2 rival.

The game plan from the Pirate camp has to be.

1) Stay out of the box. PP goals were a huge problem a few weeks ago. Last night Park got one of two with the extra attacker. You can't take many penalties when you don't score a lot of goals.
2) Continue to be stingy defensively. That starts with great goaltending, and it's good to see a senior solidfy that position this time a year.
3) More O. Look for Lien to go on a run from his perch at the blueline before the year is over. Whether that run starts Thursday or in the sectional I can't say, but he's got another binge in him.

Conclusion: The Pirates need to win two of their last three. Whether it's the Wave and Bears, Wave and Eagles, or Eagles and Bears, doesn't matter.

They will go to EGF with confidence, that is for certain.

Maybe Park Rapids is better than the old dogs of the section are giving them credit for. 2-1 OT loss to them may not be a terrible thing. I'll stick with my 4-3 Crookston prediction.

On 2/8/07 the picture will come clear

The Pirates will journey to East side without fear.

The game will be tough, the game will be tight

the players will be rough, the refs with no sight.

Brule will stand tall, Alex C. will use might

to keep the black biscuit from tickling the twine through the night.

The game will end, perhaps later than should

in OT the Greenwave will come out good!

I agree SC, the game last night was a good fastpaced game, both teams played hard, the way EGF has been struggling (with the exception of last night) as of late the Pirates could take them down. Should be a good one.

Every Minnesota HS hockey team is actually 7 teams.

1. Who they think they are.
2. Who others think they are.
3. Who they are on a good night.
4. Who they are on a bad night.
5. Who they really are most of the time.
6. Who they think they can be.
7. Who they are in relation to the team they are playing that night.

As for Park Rapids I can only address #2 and #7.
PR is a team that has answered the bell nearly everynight out, of course they are a good team, the old dogs recognize that. Though Crookston and PR are fairly equal, Crookston wouldn't be 16-3-1 with Park's schedule. Park has somewhere around 90 goals this year, 30% of which come from one stick. Crookston can't score like that, they don't have that in their lockeroom. Everygame they play is 0-0 after one whether its RLF, PR, Blake, Warroad, or somebody from ND. When you do that, prepare yourself for some L's and few T's.

I know Park can hold a team that averages 2.36goals/game and less than 20 shots/game to one goal, they did it last night. What I don't know is if they can hold TR or Warroad down, and if they can't, can they match them charge for charge, and goal for goal if 30% of their offense can't get to the net. In Park's one meeting with TRF it sounded like they had nine shots, that won't do it.

Until they prove themselves in the sectionals, there will always be doubts.
Last year, they beat EGF in the Reg season.
When they met in the sectionals, I believe EGF routed them 7 - 1.
There is more history between EGF, Crox, TRF, and War. So none is typically intimidated by the other. Can PR get to that level?



One still has to be somewhat skeptical.
