Mound 4
HF 2
Mound wins simply because they seem to be hot lately and because HF has lost every big game this year.

Hopefully Mound 7-1 again so they shut up these holy family kids for good. They are worse then the orono kids on this board.

WOW, what a game to watch, all the way down to the last few seconds.
1st period. Mound came out flying and peppered Smothers with 15 shots, scored one goal to go up 1-0. HF had 6 total shots in the first and it looked as if it was going to be another whooping. No real chances for HF but several good scoring oppurtunites for mound, smothers came up big and held the score at 1-0.
2nd period
HF came out flying and on the powerplay, Bennett Dragos scores on a rebound to tie the game up at 1-1. 3 minutes later Earls puts one in from the blue line and I dont know for sure but it looked as if it were tipped. Anyway HF goes up 2-1. shots after 2, 20 to 12 in favor of mound. Many penalties for HF but Mound couldnt capatilize on any of them.
3rd Period.
Both teams come out flying, the third was back and forth for most of the period except at the end. Both team had numerous chances to put goals in but both tenders shut them down. 2 more Powerplay oppurtunites for Mound but still no goals. HF was on the penalty kill the whole game it seemed like. 2 minutes left in the game, score still 2-1. HF gets a penalty for hooking. Mound then wins the face off and just starts shooting for any tip of some sort to go in. Nelson was pulled with about a minute left in regulation but Mound couldnt capatilize and Holy Family wins.
Great game...

What did HF do to shut Mounds powerplay down. And was Mound not up for the game or was HF just on.

Does anybody know why the Mound goal towards the end of the game was waived off?

There wasn't a goal "waived off". Mound had a shot hit two posts with about 30 seconds left in the game on a flurry in front of the net. The puck never went in.

i would not want to have to seed this section. every team seems to be inconsistent. mound beats hf 7-1 and scc 4-1 but then they lose to hf and litch. delano beats orono but then loses to mound and hf. it looks to me like orono and new prague will be the top 2 teams in this section

I would agree. The big ? is where does Fairibault fit in. They don't play a lot of the section teams.
If it were TODAY I would go with......, but a lot can change with many section games remaining.
Orono
New Prague
Fairibault
Holy Family
Mound
Delano
Shakopee
Litchfield
Hutchinson
Providence
St. Michael
LeSeur

I agree with those seedings. Big win for Holy Family, JuiceBox every team does seem to be inconsistent, but thats hockey. The middle seeds seem to be very inconsistent and can look like 2 different teams on any night.

i agree with most of those rankings but i just think theres no way delano can up with worse then a 5 seed with their win over orono...but thats just MY opinion other then that i think those seeds look about right

Big win for Delano over Orono, but doesn't put them over any of the other top five based on the results of the rest of their games. Even if they split with HF and Mound, they still won't move ahead of them because of their loss to Hutch and close games with LeSeur and St. Michael.

The shot that you were talking was not in. Like the guy said earlier, it hit two posts and then the net was hit off. It really looked like it was a goal and it sure sounded like a goal but the when the puck hit both of the posts it just went straight down and derek earls came in and hit it away with his stick. A mound player came diving in looking for anything to go in but he ended up just hitting the net off the spikes and the ref called a faceoff because of it. Close call and great oppurtunity for mound but just didnt go there way. If it would have went in theres no doubt in my mind that they would have taken the game into OT and won with all that momentum. 2 minuteds remaining they were just shelling smothers with shots.

If a Mound player hit the net off, the face off would have been out side of the HF end. The ref did give the “wave off”, I thought that meant it went in but was disallowed?
