you guys all act like marshall didnt skate on the bad ice either? it seems as if everyone likes to come up with any bs just to point out that marshall shouldnt have gotten the win. i saw all 3 disallowed goals and i know that refs disallowed the first 2 with good reason. as to the 3rd one i couldnt be able to tell you if it was in on time or not. does anyone know if it was on tape? austin had more heart to win last night and it showed. but marshall came out on top with a well deserved win. the ice excuse that everyone is comming up with is such bs. marshall has to sit there and practice on it all the time and then skate on different ice everytime they go somewhere else and they dont sit their and complain and blame their losses on the ice. when they had bad reffing at the marshall/west game no body thought that was the effect of marshalls loss..but when its austin that had bad reffing they should have won. the albert lea marshall game should be pretty decent tomorrow. didnt they play each other last year 2nd round?

Beau Larson for the tieing goal from Trail somewhere around at 11 to 12 minutes. Then the game winner was scored in OT by #20 Casey Schumaker with a rebound out front from Breuer and Dougstad somewhere around 8 min.

I didnt get to make it down to the game but to me it sounds like Austin is the better team of the two. Does Marshall think that they can just show up any day and play good hockey when they want, well they cant they lost to luverne and they play in the SW Conference the worst in the State. By the sounds of it, the packers wanted it more and should be the team playing at GAC on sat. Austin had a down year, but at least they gave it everything they had each time they hit the ice....

i just looked back and saw that this was posted about the marshall luverne game.

i believe last year marshall lost to windom or sleepy eye? they ended up in section finals. their loss to luverne might not mean anything. i await the day marshall gets any respect.

My Predictions:

AL-5
Marshall-2
Walton/Arendt will make the Marshall D look like fools, and "Chuck" legit teams don't take nights off and lose to teams like luverne

NU-4
West-3
(OT)
West will win if anderson plays if not i question there top lines ablility w/out him, and Beugler? will stand on his head

swats i agree with you on the albert lea part. good teams dont take nights off. and albert lea definitally wont do that tomorrow due to the fact they got upset by the same team last year in the same semi final game.

now for the west vs new ulm prediction. could be possible but young kid ( 18 ) for west stepped in and did a great job to fill in andersons spot. also from sources i hear anderson has a good chance in playing in tomorrows game. i say west takes this one by 1 possibly 2 eng or not

yeah and people like you are the reason why marshall plays so hard. everyone doubts them which makes them want to prove something. as for tomorrow....we will see if marshall "decides" to play good. goodluck to both teams.

NU/West will be a classic match-up of offensive-mided style vs. defensive-minded style. If NU stays out of the box, it will be a tight one. Buegler should keep NU in it, and if it's close late, anything can happen.
Hopefully the weather holds off and allows it to happen.

Anderson's playing. Nothing more than a little stinger. West held him out because they did not need him. 18 did a great job for him filling in. West will roll three lines against NU and that will be the differnce in the 3rd period

Marshall gained respect last year, but they lost it last night when they didnt come to play against austin, However I think they can gain that respect back tomorrow if they show up to play. My thoughts on tomorrow, If Marshall shows up to GAC with 20 kids that want to play hockey and show that they actually do have some love for the game AL wont know what hit them. Tomorrow talent and skills wont matter at all . Its going to come down to which team wants it more, and which team will do whatever it takes to win the game. I cant wait to see if Marshall actually has any love for the game, thats the difference between good teams and GREAT teams.....who wants it more????

Its win or go home tomorrow... Right which teams are willing to do whatever it takes to win??

I think NU will come ready to play tomorrow also... They have been playing some really good hockey the past couple of weeks... I hope they crush west!

Hey! We have a winner! But, you tipped your hand by saying Dugstad got an assist, because that means you looked it up on internet and werent' actually there, he wasn't on the ice. Also, somewere around 8 min? That's how many minutes they play in overtme.

But, nice research skills either way.

Any word on the games today? I would assume there off, my door has lots of ice on it.

So they haven't decided where, if GAC could be available I think that still is the best, I think a 5:00 and 7:00 would work, it's really nice and fun for the section when they are played like that, everyone gets to see all the teams. Any ideas what the plans may be??

even though i think we should stop talking about the past and talk about the present and future... i think it's somewhat funny that those two teams you guys are talking about reminds me somewhat of the albert lea team now and mankato west. albert lea, a hard nosed team who hustles their butts off and two kids who can really turn it on, and mankato west, a team full of talent with a great 1st line and decent supporting casts. wenzel, drysdale, and grant... just like litchfield, leivermann, and anderson. so if it does end up being these two teams in the final which many people think it will be... i wonder if its going to turn out to be like that years turn out or a new one... i guess we'll just have to get past the semi's first to find this out.

ilovelife23,
Do you play for Mankato West? Are you #18 who filled in so well? Truth of the matter is that #18 was a little guy. Put him on the ice against the first line of one of the top 4 teams and he would get pounded. Just my opinion. What do you think?

I do play for Mankato West. #18 is not ilovelife23. And yeah 18 is a little fella but he is quick, has good hands and is a strong skater for his size. Against a top 4 top line he would get drilled but would still be able to be somewhat effective due to the things listed above.

If GAC doesn't work out, the high seeds will host. Suddenly the seeding process just went from not much of a big deal between being seeded from 1-4, to it being a huge deal.

I know that this has been brought up before but what do people think about the Civic Center in Mankato. Yes i know that it is not a neutral site and it has a whole different atmosphere, but if you are looking for a place that can hold a large number of people then the CC is the perfect place.

no i do not play for west, but i am a fan. i think they bring a lot to the table if they want to work hard. do i believe they can go to state.... yes, if they want to work hard and use their skills to the fullest advantage. now if they will work hard throughout the rest of the playoffs is up to them. new ulm will be a great challenge for west. also if they get past them... they will absolutely need to give everything they got if they want to beat albert lea or marshall, as those teams will give everything they got. and as far as 18 goes... when did i ever say he could compete with all these lines? i said he did a good job filling in for anderson for that game.

ilovelife23,
Ok you never said anything about these lines. I will also agree with you that he filled in well. The point that I was trying to make was that West was playing Windom. Not exactly the best team in the section. And that he would not do as well as he did. Do you know how many points he had?

Civic Center in Mankato might be an option. They have ice in as the MAVS are playing this weekend. Neutral ice
