In regards to Mg laying an egg last night:
Mg played terrible and Centennial came out and worked there butts off, I give them alot of credit., Mg beat them badley early in the year and came out over confident last night. Centennial out worked them and deserved to win.
Mg has been flat since returning from the Grand Rapids Tourney. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call in the fact that you cant just show up and win a game.
It just shows that Mg has along ways to go if they want to have a sucessful post season. Top teams do not lose games like the one they lost last night.

great game chaska. unfortunatley tomASS, ep played an incredibly bad. i dont think that they caught one pass, or won a single race to a 50/50 puck. with this loss i think that the d6 playoff gap has closed significantly.
on a depressing note, i was very upset at a chaska parent who at the end of the game was shouting, "down goes fraiser." i have a few problems with this. one: your team played great, so what. it was ep's worst game and probally your best game. two: this shows that the parent might be incurably inept at noticing when a team plays bad and walks all over them, he should have known that his comments werent necesary. in all my years of hockey i have never seen a parent act as immature as this guy. why couldnt he be happy about the fact that his team won and played great, and not focus on making another teams already terrible night even worse. this is youth hockey, please respect every team.
overall though, Chaska you guys played out of your minds and good luck to you the rest of the way. i hope to see you guys play ep again and maybe ep will show up to play this time.

the EP asst. coach was far more immature by threatening bodily harm to the individual who made the comment or was not any worse than the EP whistling lady
If you remember Frasier was an awesome champion that was unexpectedly defeated in an huge upset.

so you are saying that if someone acts immaturely to someone else, the person who is acted upon doesnt have the right to do what he thinks is right? all im trying to say is that what this guy said was un called for. CHaska: just be happy that you won. you guys played great, but dont think that it will happen every night.

since when has it been illegal to whistle in the stands?
Chaska vs. EP

Great game at Chaska tonight.
Chaska played with composure all night long and shut down the vaunted EP Red powerplay.
As for the end of game antics, c'mon EP, it was a parent who was excited about the game results. Don't take it so seriously. Also, coaches should not be leaving the players box to "talk" to parents.
Players play, coaches coach and fans cheer. If you can't take the heat, then stay out the kitchen.
On another note, the results of the Chaska/EP Red and Tonka/Edina Green games over the last 2 nights show the depth of this league. You'd better bring your "A" game very night!
The playoffs for this district are gonna be fantastic!

during inappropriate points of play especially if you can sound like a regular whistle. She was asked by the referee to stop or leave at an earlier season game of EP red's

excited about the game results? he should be because his team played great! they didnt even give ep a chance tonight. all im saying is that that guy's comment was un called for.

rankings

LesHabs, Freddie - Somewhere way back in this thread there is a fairly long description of the process used. Wins have zero weighting in this system; it is simply how close (or not) the scores are against a given level of competition. EP drops some points because they beat some pretty weak competition by some mostly unimpressive scores (notably Warroad only 4-0). Now the problem with that is that some coaches will "pull back the reigns" so to speak when they know they are playing inferior competition. This may very well be the case with EP.
Ultimately these rankings mean NOTHING, they are simply an objective look at the relative strength and consistancy of teams. The team hoisting the wooden outline of the state of Minnesota on March 18th in Wayzata will be #1. It doesn't get any more simple than that.

can't agree more blueblood - there are only two teams in D6 I would not place bets on, the rest have as good of chance as the other.
As good as Chaska played to night they played a reverse 180 against Burnsville. I do believe EP red coming off a long tourney up north might not have been their best, but Burnsville showed it and Chaska carried it out the whole game that if you forecheck hard and play physical in red's defensive zone they will make bad passes and not catch them the way they normally do. You can blame an off night but red was thrown off their game by Chaskas game plan.
On any given night ...............

Do you expect Ep Red to play great hockey the entire year? They lose 1 game and Tomass is acting like Chaska just one the State title. Everyone is Due for an off night...Tonka 6 Edina Green 0.

I believe your interpretation of the written word is a bit off - I don't believe I indicated that all. I do agree with blueblood that no District 6 team can take another team lightly. Tonka 6 Edina 0 is not just an off night or the score would have been a tad closer. Tonka played great and Edina did not play up to potential and underestimated the Skippers.
No team in D6 is that much better than the others ( Waconia and Prior Lake excluded ...sorry they should have been placed at B2 ) The teams that finally realizes it will move into the regions.

and by the way .......it's W O N ( as in past tense in winning an event) and not O N E ( 1 ..indicating a number coming before 2 ..not to or too)
but in the excitement to post and all the bad IM grammar being used now days I understand. I just want to make sure that you get that corrected before you graduate HS. and have to apply for jobs
