Todd Weisjahn was the best coach orono had in a while
wow you do not know what you are talking about. ya he was an alright coach but his first year of hockey at orono he had the best team ever. a monkey could have sat on the bench and that team would have made it to state. then he left after two whole years
True, he did have a great team built by Armstrong, and if you read what i posted before you would understand what i meant. My point is, he didn't make stupid decision that put his team's season in jeopardy like Ryan.

I'd have to disagree with this statement and say that Kevin Armstrong was a better coach than Weis was. Weis also inherited a state tournament team from Mr. Armstrong. Weis then won coach of the year his first year at Orono on a team that was built by Coach Armstrong. Armstrong put on youth clinics at the beginning of each year in order to develop talent for the high school program. much of the talent on the team this year is a direct result from Mr. Armstrongs coaching. Orono was just a stop for Weis while he tried to get a coaching job at the school where he taught.
very true colin, armstrong had a knack for helping out in the youth program to develop them for high school.

How did Matson get registered for the Orono youth program if he lives in the Mound school district?
I think, he open and rolled for school in like 1st grade cuz Mound school system is not the best.
According to March3333madness you must be good at hockey #1D! Lol

Mound: 3

well played by both teams. shots pretty even all game.

Peterson

by Imjustafan...
Agreed. Well played by both teams but Peterson is truely unbeatable. He had some amazing saves the saved the game.

Peterson is probably top 3 in state for sure.

Look up the deinition of unbeatable.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean giving up 3 goals in a game.
Don't think it means having 5 losses on the season either.
Didn't even see Peterson in the top 15 for metro area goalies.
He doesn't have a shut-out yet this year (so he hasn't even made it through ONE game being unbeatable.)
He's not in the top 35 in the state in any goaltender statistic. (GAA, Save %, or Wins)

PLEASE quit talking about how good he is, You are actually ruining the kids name and embarrassing him, because he is no where near as good as anyone talks.

These are facts my friend, I don't even want to hear the garbage comeback you Orono boys give.

Agreed that Peterson played outstanding and has all year. Also have to give props to the Mound coach for putting the kid who scored the final goal with 11 seconds left back in his place after his little celebration. Good sportsmanship by both teams.

He's a good goaltender but he is just to small to say he is unbeatable. There's no way he's going to go anywhere next year and play. College and Junior teams are not looking for 5'7 150 pound goalies to play for them. There looking for 6 footers that have bulk to them.

COlin, what did the coach say to the kid that did that.

iceman...why do you trash on orono so much??? what do you honestly have against that team...are you just bitter cause you didn't accomplish anything your high school career or what (on or off the ice...you're a real winner Dynan)

by Iceman33
Good guess, but I'm not Dynan. I Graduated long before any Dynan's got to high school. I have nothing against this team, I've watched Orono play for many years and wished them the best, but never have I seen such a cocky group. Don't know if it's the coach you guys have or what, (because I've never met him, only hear things) but you guys need to be brought down to earth once in awhile and realize nothing about you is "unbeatable." Not your goalie, not your team and not your coach. You guys are fun to watch, but it is just painful listening to you guys on here.

Sorry someone said Peterson played a good game Iceman. Obviously you saw different, oh wait you were not even at the game

You don't have to be there to know the facts. Never said he wasn't good, just quit the "unbeatable" talk, or "he's the best" talk.

Nice effort on the comeback though Badger, I'm sure he did very well tonight, he usually does. However, he got beat 3 times tonight.

to be fair, the third goal was with orono's last line on the ice apparently, and the other two were on the power play. i wasn't there, i only heard from a reliable source. i'd be proud to play in front of Peterson any day; i have seen him stand on his head too many times for anyone to change my mind.

Well orono good game,
I do think you guys are a little high on yourselfs sometimes, but that was a well played game by both teams. I didn't like the celebration with the 3rd goal but im glad coach put him in place. I cant wait to see you guys in playoffs.
P.S.
Peterson is definetly not nearly as good as you say he is. I had never seen him before and tonight, he was all but beatable. It was unfortunate that our goalie did worse. I just hope that someone comes and trounces peterson for one game so you guys will just be quite, because it really does make me mad. I am in my 60's and when youngsters come on here talking about that kind of crap it really toots my horn.

If you really are in your "mid-60's" I am sorry for you that foolish kids talking smack still "toots your horn".

Peterson rarely gets beat on the first shot. All the goals scored on him are tips or screens.
