Heard news of a couple others, but my guess is we won't know about them until they are filled as the schools are doing internal postings first.

Molly McQuillan, the Girls Hockey Coach at Orono resigned yesterday due to parent pressure. The Orono hockey parents have now run out their Boys and Girls Head Hockey coaches in the past 6 weeks. I am not sure who would want to coach there right now.

I just heard this morning that Albert Lea Head Coach Steve Falk has resigned. I do not know why at this time, but that's a pretty significant blow to the AL girls team.

We just keep losing great coaches... I guess it's bound to happen, but it seems that the rate of change is still very high...

A big problem with at least one of the above situations is that the AD totally caved to a couple of idiot parents. AD's in a lot of cases act like politicians, instead of doing the right thing.
I give you HS coaches a lot of credit. You get it from the parents of the not so good players, who think their kids are getting cheated on ice time. If you spread the ice time out fairly (is this youth hockey?), you get it from the parents of the highly skilled parents who want to win every game. You try to enforce your team rules and the parents stick up for the kids who break the rules. And so on, etc.
I don't know how you guys and gals do it.

I think that we are thinking of the same program, and if that is the case that is the second coach that parents have pushed out in just over 2 years. All I say to that community is good luck finding a qualified applicant who would want to work there.
On the other hand the two coaches who have left were good people and quality coaches. They are better off finding work in a district where the AD/school admin support them, and appreciate their efforts.

Well looks like more jobs are starting to open up.
It's too bad, especially when quality people leave/are pushed out do to a couple parents.
It's a shame....

What's the story with Farmington? Coach Revels has built a very successful program-- I'm surprised by this. State runner-up in class A and now they move into AA. Their program is exploding and it should be a heck of a opportunity for the next coach.

I think some forget that Revels took the Farmington team to the one-class tourney too out of Section 1 a number of years ago? Or maybe I'm wrong on that...
In any case, growing community in a section that they should be competitive in, etc. New HS going up I think?

New HS going up, more people..which means more parents and THAT means more expectations from all the "experts".

It looks like the St Paul Blades are looking for a new coach. Anybody know what happened. Coach Gutterman had been there for awhile and I wasn't aware that he was looking to give it up.

I know they have very different coaching styles from Morris. I wonder if that may have something to do with those two leaving. It's too bad for the girls, those two had some pretty good connections with their players. I think one of them had been there since the program started.

Shannon Jacobson has stepped down at Mahtomedi. He is adding to his young family and desires to spend more time with them. He has done a wonderful job and we wish him the best. Always good to leave on a good note. He will be relpaced by his assistant coaches John Taylor and John Aikens. Cory Ratzlof will be doing the STP this summer and then assume the JV coaching responsibilities from Jeff Whisler.
