Here's my top 10 this week, what are yours?
1 EP
2 BSM
3 Edina
4 Wayzata
5 Roseville
6 AHA
7 Stillwater
8 Bemidji
9 Cloquet
10 Coon Rapids
Great holiday tourneys by BSM and Wayzata
AHA dropping a bit maybe?
Stillwater is scary, they are right up there still
Cloquet stays strong in goal but maybe less scoring power

Good ranking. My only change would be to have Edina No. 2 and BSM No.3, at least until Saturday when BSM plays Wayzata. Wayzata ended BSM's season last year in the playoffs, so there could be a revenge factor at work in that one.

Revenge is always a factor, but can BSM pull it off twice in one week, their win against Blake Fri was revenge for an early season loss? Call me inconsistent but even though I rank BSM higher right now I think Wayzata could very well win that game Sat. If BSM proves more consistent down the stretch then I give them the upper hand come section time.

It will be a game of Offense vs. Defense.
Wayzata has two of the top defenders in the metro and BSM has one of the top lines in the metro.
My guess is that we have another 1 goal game.

Benilde has more talent than Wayzata! Benilde by 2 or 3! Depends on goaltending?

Exactly - I am going with Defense in this one. Benilde may have a top line but D will keep Wayzata in it. Predict a low scoring matchup.

Good ranking. I might put CEC ahead of Bemidji.
Quite a stretch of games coming for the Trojans including this one, then Hopkins, CEC, AHA, Tonka, Burnsville, Eden Prairie, Armstrong and Edina. I can't imagine anyone having a much tougher schedule than this. Should toughen them up for sections, or might fray the rope.
Seems BSM has gotten it together. New coach has gotten his systems in place and the goaltending has improved. Not sure Wayzata has enough firepower to overcome them. 3-1 BSM is my guess.

I got a feeling that you think they should be...
I think most others would put them in the next five, somewhere between 11-15.

haha this is true. i think an 11-15 ranking is fair, and it'll be very intresting to see their game vs. BSM

I would expect a much closer game than last time when it was 8-0 Benilde, but Irondale will still be big underdogs!

i most definitly agree. by the way Irondale made it into the pioneer press top 10. and for some reason BSM isnt in it so i completly discredit it.

An observation: 4 of the top 6 AA teams and 3 of the top 7 A teams were at Kaposia. I hope this tournament doesn't die.

I agree, at this stage, Edina and BSM should flip flop in the rankings. With Edina playing Cloquet-Esko-Carlton on Friday night and BSM against Wayzata on Saturday will help determine where each team should rank.
On a side note I heard a rumor that Shannon Reilly from BSM is out of action with a lower leg injury. She's a solid player and having a good year. Hope she recovers and can help BSM in the sections with EP, Edina and Wayzata.

Yes, this is true. Latest is that she should be back in about two weeks, in time for the sections.

Cloquet had a very rough week against some good metro-area competition.
1/11 Loss to Centennial 1-2
1/12 Loss to Wayzata 1-3
1/13 Loss to Eagan 1-2
1/15 Win over Chisago Lakes 1-0
Having to play 3 games on successive days, followed by a 4th with just a day's rest, had to tough. But I'm sure they were disappointed in only being able to score one goal in each of these games, even though defensively they hung in there. You have to give them credit for scheduling these games, as it's sure to help in their section playoffs, but my guess is that they'll fall out of the Top 10 in next week's ratings.
