Differently.

For what it's worth, Corpus has a lot to offer for a NAHL team (other than travel times) ...nice rink, great fan support (led attendance last year with >3k/game), and two Eagan grads on the likely roster (Jensen and Karel).

No I meant is Keith Muehlbauer next to leave Eastview.

Anyway, with various inputs about Lindgren, Aherns and Rasmussen all potentially leaving, who would that leave as the top MSHSL AA goalie (assuming Edquist stays put?) Goodman?

Cross referencing the USHL protected lists and the Elite League rosters, I'd say it's likely that Freytag and Ausmus are gone. Anybody know if either of these guys is just skipping Elite League to concentrate on football?

These players are listed on USHL and Elite League rosters, though it's possible both leagues listed them with the intent of persuasion. There's no guarantee these guys won't skip out on Elite League before the season kicks off.

Versich
Roth
Ben Meyers
Malmquist
Dornback
Bethune
Fralich
Muehlbauer
Swaney
Fellows

Questions:

Aherns not on Elite list, planning on Magicians, or ?

Broetzman not on Elite list, planning on ?

John Peterson on Elite list, considering what alternatives?

Broetzman does Team Wisconsin or has in the past. Really haven't seen or heard much buzz about the Blades and Duluth team being sanctioned to play in nationals next year. If this is true can anyone explain why the great minds at the "Elite" league don't let these team play in the league and try to draw a couple of other AAA programs like TI or Mission?

Ahrens hasn't announced, but evidence is overwhelming.

Announced via Twitter, Bethune will be doing a "before & after" with Lincoln in the USHL. Just goes to show, Elite League rosters are not definitive.

Nice to see he's not skipping his senior year.

Well done.

Lot's of goalies leaving this year. I do wonder if it'll work out for all of them. Driscoll already has is scholarship and Oettinger will almost certainly get an offer somewhere. Ahrens and Lindgren should do okay, but we'll see.

A few goalies have done well for themselves (Matt McNeely, Collin Olson, Adam Wilcox, Charlie Lindgren, Hunter Miska, Chase Perry). Lot of others are still waiting for their offers (Brock Kautz, Darion Hanson, Jake Kielly, Justin Ketola, George McLeod).

Not sure if Ketola should be lumped in with others who left for development reasons, but regardless, it is definitely a trend...and not really a surprising one, when you consider MN's history of goalie development. It'll take a bigger-picture view to show whether these departures make a difference or not.

Skater departures, on the other hand, look to be down somewhat.

Who can blame the goalies for leaving early? The best players are leaving which is starting to erode the level of play to a certain extent. Goalies develop late as it is, so they might as well leave and start that development? The NAHL has offered many more opportunities for good goalies to develop at the next level quicker than a senior season. Why not go play more games at a high level? The NAHL wants goalies, needs goalies, and frankly, they like US goalies that aren't 6'4". This trend may only be beginning.

The dream isn't necessarily the MN HS Hockey tourney anymore.

Is anyone 100% positive that Jake Wahlin won't be back at White Bear? I know for a fact that he really wants to return and play for the Bears, however, his dad is requiring Jake to play in the USHL.

If true, that is a sad, sad situation.
