Minnesota Youth Hockey uses a July 1 to June 30 cutoff. In your example it sounds like players with a birthday of July 1 and after are still Squirt while those with a birthday before July 1 have moved to PeeWee.
I thought you said that grade younger birthyear kids never make the elite AAA teams.....?

More specifically if you take the 6 returners to the Edina team (5- 00 machine and 1 - 00 blades) plus another 00 machine kid that just moved there in all likleyhood you will have 6 - 00 machine kids and 1 - 00 blades kid to start their roster out. Going to be darn good. The 00 machine coach won't hurt that team either.

07/01/00
Thank you

I never said never.
Here are links to two highly ranked 97 AAA teams. One has 2 of 19 after July 1 and the other has zero after July 1.

And, I can't believe you don't know that.

I believe the number of 00 machine orange players that are squirt eligible is closer to 10

seems to me that Blades and Made are the only 'true' Elite AAA teams in MN......... Did they hold tryouts over MEA? :)
Are all the best SQ kids in the Metro already on the Blades or Orange?
Will Gold or Euro step up in 2012?

No.
Are
many of the best on Blades or Machine? Yes.
As an observer: I like the Gold program a lot and expect to see their 01's mixing it up with the best. Breakaway in Chaska has a nice group of kids too, and Vanek's ITR teams often are strong. Will be very interesting to see how the newly formed Walser teams do. All of these teams have at least two or three, and in some cases many more, of "the best SQ kids in the Metro."

Don't forget all "the best SQ kids in the Metro" that take the summer off.

An argument can be made that The Edge (not Ice Edge) out of Lakeville has had some success vs the "big 2" at the 2000 level.

Not much against the orange. Some close games but that's all.

Does anyone really give two craps about last summer's AAA hockey anymore. How about we talk about the hockey that's going on this winter. If you want to gloat about your kid's Machine experience from last summer, start a new thread that's titled "I live my life vicariously through my 11 yr old son".

How many ice edge/edge/edge elite teams are there? Very confusing with this program.

2002's AAA

Next year, Euro American's 2002's will be right there. They were as Easton Synergy this past summer (split with the Blades, played orange tough, and beat black twice), and have re-tooled to bring in some kids for next summer. Not the best team maybe, but in the mix for sure.

Synergy was a good team last summer, but not in the class of the Blades/Machine. Synergy beat the Blades 4-3 in the Independent Classic, and then got whupped 10-0 and 6-1 in the Caribou. Either the Blades got better over the summer, Synergy got worse, or the 4-3 Synergy win was a big upset (my vote). Either way, the Blades had the better team, but regardless, Machine Orange was the best 02 team last summer. Now -- lets get back to the winter season..........and see how OMG's Squirt A's (where a good chunk of the Synergy team plays) do against Edina, Rosemount, Elk River, WBL and EP in a couple of weeks at the EP tourney. Too bad Andover isn't playing in that tourney, otherwise all the big boys would be there.

There's still a spot open. One team dropped out from the sounds of it.
my point

Which was my point...Euro will not be the best..but they will be right there. The losses at the end of the season to the Blades were bad...but they were missing a couple key kids along with one that was sick. They also went out and solidified their roster with 5 new pick ups that will be a huge addition. Also, the Blades did split with Orange last year...so saying Orange was the best is debatable.
