This should honestly be a great game to start the big damce off. It's got a highly touted team against one that is said to be "over-rated," and weak, because of their schedule.
West:4
Marshall:2

Marshall has not been shut out a game this year, i quarantee it will not happen in this game.
Matt Messina

Willi Paul

Anyone know who will get the start for marshall, either one is fine, i have no worries. Mankato better hope this doesn't turn into another LF game from 3 years ago

I believe they are switching every game- Paul quarterfinal, Messina gets second game, and Paul gets third

I,m not saying they can,t be beat but its kind of like playing Tiger Woods you need your A game and better hope there playing there C game which I highly doubt with the intensity the State Tournament brings and the mission they are on. DM also plays in the Lake Superior Conference which was a State Tournament in itself this season with teams like Duluth East, Cloquet, Superior Wis, Denfeld, Hermantown. Does MW play a schedule like Marshall does playing the best teams in the state all year and getting no breaks playing the quality teams in there own conference to boot? I want to say congrats to MW its not easy getting to state. I just believe DM has come so close being the bridemaid twice recently. They will be on a mission. They are not just happy to get there even though Hibbing who always gels at the end of the year and knows how to play a big game gave them all the trouble they needed in the Section 7A championship. Just my opinion.
well said bud, also mankato west has no experience in the state tournament like DM does being there the past few years. So DM will be used to this atmosphere.
MinnyKG whats your point with them little stats??
Duluth East is not in the Lake Superior Conference and hasn't been for many years, they play an independent TOUGH schedule as compared to Marshalls weak schedule against teams like Central and Ashland. Don't compare the two.

Will people please stop holding ANY team responsible for playing the few real easy teams that they have to play because of their conference schedule. All teams have it, they have no choice, it shouldn't be part of any argument.

I didnt see any attempt to compare the two at all. Looks like someone is still a little upset about East's loss in the playoffs to an LSC team.

ColdasIce has followed all the DM threads this year and bashed them at every chance. I would be cranky too if my teams DE and Anoka could not dispose of Cloquet like DM did. It is correct that DE is not in the LSC.

I think Anderson, Bruggemann's and Logan Deopre are going to have awesome games on Wednesday and Ricky and Cory are going to play thier normal fantastic game.
West 7 Duluth Marshall 2 Tyler Bruggemann 40+ saves is the first star of the game.... Andrew Bruggemann two goals.....2nd star of the game.....
First team to seven wins

DE is an independent, and will NOT put Marshall on their schedule, maybe give 'ol Randolph a call and ask him why? For you Southern boys, if you think DM won't play physical, you have another thing coming, and the West boys better keep their heads up. Marshall by a half a dozen.....

Yes I,m wrong. East is a independent. The LSC is still super strong without them. As far as comparing the two I believe they would play one great game if they scheduled each other. I watch lots of hockey having played way back when against the likes of Pavelich, Schneider, Verchota, Baker, Delich ect. Love the game and got a pretty good eye I think. P.S. I have no home team I love all the great teams up here including Duluth East, Cloquet, DM, Superior, Hermantown, Rapids, I Falls, Hibbing, Etc. I just go wherever there is a great game near me up North. Thanks for correcting me!

ok well lets not get this tread to be about marshall vs east...it is about marshall vs mankato west....
what is a scarlet?
what tough teams have mankato west beat?
also last question.... why do ppl think mankato west will smoke marshall?? it is the state tournament and a score like 7 to 2 won't happen because marshall has too much experience in good games ex. "vs sta" ..... if anything marshall will come to play their hardest and mankato will fall apart half way through the second which is when marshall will score most of their goals....
