Woodbury's fans were loud because they outnumbered Hill's fans 3 to 1, but woodbury's fans had absolutely no originality. For every chant Hill's fans did they changed Pioneers to Royals and thought it was better because it was louder.

My son and I head over for the consolation games every year. Woodbury brought more fans then anyone else I can remember. Most likely due to them being a metro school and this being their first time. Let them have the win Basil. It costs us nothing...

I wasn't complaining that Woodbury won, but they could have been a little more original. I'm glad Woodbury was able to beat us with no Larson or Philippi and with 3rd or 4th line on the ice half the time.

What happened to Lou Metcalf? He was pretty good on JV last year, but everytime the 4th line was out there today they gave up scoring chances to Woodbury. The 4th line was terrible. Should be a fun team next year. If Phillippi can figure out how to not only show up for sections but for state too...

Why wouldn't two of Hills best players play in this game. Larsen played the whole game with his owy and couldn't pull this one off....??

Larson didnt play because why risk anything when he has a great future ahead of him? let him go play in the USHL when he is not injured anymore and then on to the gophers. why would lechner want him to risk his future with a consolation game. and philipi didnt play because lechner let the senior goaltender, who is the back up, play.

Sparlimb, Metcalf played on the 3rd line today not the 4th, and the 4th line actually scored a goal in the game.

I agree it should be a fun year next year. The first line returns Furne and Zepeda, and the second line returns Cecka and Kohls. Assuming those pairs stay together (I realize that's not a given). Each line needs a third, and with Westerhaus, Widing and Singerhouse all craving the extra ice time not to mention Prescott, French and a couple of others I may have left out this should be a team to be reckoned with.

Have a nice off season.
Well I think he will knowing that H-M returns 14 players which includes 108 goals scored this year, 4 of 6 defensemen, and a goaltender with 4 years of experience.
Oh and by the way Mr. I'm Smarter Than Everyone Else Guy Because I Went to the Private School Hill Murray
Oh, and by the way that wasn't even remotely funny ....

 and a goaltender with 4 years of experience. Now that IS funny.

woodbury has been doing those cheers all year so maybe hill should get some originality, i mean we all know they are so much smarter than us so why can't they come up with something original.

hill has been doing these cheers at every game for years. But every cheer we did woodbury came right back and did the same thing. Not even a different cheer, but the same thing. Lack of originality

lack of originality on both parts, i will agree that our cheers suck but i have even seen other teams do them as well.

honestly pretty much every team in the tournament uses the same cheers. and the kid who says our cheers r unoriginal, dont even try to tell me that hill murray invented those cheers cuz ive lived and gone to school in woodbury for 11 years now and weve been using most of the cheers (other than "sit down cecka!" of course) for as long as i can remember. but anyways good game by both teams whoever won that game it still woulda been one of the best in a while (but im glad woodbury did!) foogd luck next year to every1 i hate to say it but Hill is looking like a contender sor the state championship because they were so young this year. sections r all different next year tho so well see what happens.

you just arent seeing what im saying

we would yell pioneers eat em up

and then woodbury would do the EXACT cheer changing pioneers to royals. That is lacking originality, do it later, not right away. No need to be copycats

but who cares, the game is decided on the ice not in the stands

Why, they're in the "State of Hockey", of course .......

We were raised
With the stick
And a pair of blades
On the ice we cut our teeth
We took our knocks
In the penalty box
Our mother was the referee

This sport was here
Before we came
It will be here when we're gone
The game's in our blood
And our blood's in the game
Lay us down under
A frozen pond

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and wild
In the state the state
Of hockey
A big blue line runs around our state
A line that can't be crossed
The day they try to take this game
Is the day the gloves come off

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and wild
In the state the state
Of hockey
.

to sachisi4 very good point game is decided on the ice but fans can have a lot to do with the outcome of the game. and we honestly could not tell what u guys were saying. we could hear u but just couldnt make out what u were saying so we just did whatever chant we wanted. and after sitting in the hill section for the centruy game and listening to u guys cheer, u ned some new ones. i think i only heard 2 diferent cheers the entire game.

Cecka, kohls, and Westerhaus are 2nd line together and most likley start together next year based on their proformance this year. Alone in the past 5 games they combined for 21 points.

As for who will fill larsons spot at center on the first line is up for debate, in the game against woodbury they were 2nd line and had furne centering with zepeda and widing as the wings. widing is not a center but singerhouse is, should be an exciting team next as much as it was this year.

Heck, Zepeda is a Woodbury kid who grew up playing through the Woodbury Hockey Association and is probably their top Soph. Knowing his father, my guess is it was the fathers idea to attend Hill solely for hockey.

Hopefully...sometime in the near future, these parents will let the kids decide where to attend school. I've known a few non-athletes who were offered the choice to continue their education at Woodbury or attend Hill. 98% stayed at Woodbury. On the other end of the spectrum, I know 1 or two athletes who left to Hill for the education.
Wdbysportsfan...what a joke. I have known the Zepeda family for some time and his father and mother tried to get their son to go to St. Thomas. If you know his father so well and his son went their to play hockey, why is he still coaching in Woodbury at the Bantam level and encourages the players to "stay home". Know your facts before you spout off...
