Kind of funny ... back in 2005 ... when Moorhead was crucifying every team that dared step in it's path on the way to the title game ... I asked Packerboy if he would take a friendly wager on the Championship game between Moorhead and Holy Angels. I was to take the Spuds ... he was to take the Stars.
His response: "Not a chance in Help!"
Ok enough of the mediocre, one from an ogre

All was fine on the Spuds homefront
play the toughest schedule, and dont give a grunt
Until a Saturday the third
when reappeared that turd
Oh he meant good, certainly no harm
But this dude is one bad luck charm
then your star center has chapped lips
your best cheerleader got fat hips
your goaltender got the yips
and standing right there is
STITCHLIPS
On a Tuesday, 11 days from here
It will become quite clear
the man behind the lens
obviously wears depends
For on this day you will be upset
from a bunch that 'aint quite the jet-set'
Never mind the career and the beets that hes ran.....
Stitchlips is a BARNYARD FAN
take it to the bank to pay the rent
he dont care nuthin about lent
He wants to see one of two teams win
he'll kick BIAFP in the SHIN!
hes been to many rinks
when will he kick the jinx?
thank you all for listenin
just remember....
its 11 days till a spud butt-kickin

After kissing their sister in the first of the deuce
Our Pirates were in no mood, to sign any truce
Same for the Demons, who lost for heaven sakes
Four goals to three goals, to 8A Detroit Lakes
Bismarck struck first, but this isn’t new
Coming from behind, is all the Pirates can do
The equalizer came from the hands of a Boot
He wanted to pass it, but the bench told him to shoot
After no lamps were lit in the last of their three
Sis was starting to pucker, as she walked up to thee
Please not again, this would be two in a row
But thankfully it was a Brekken, who became the hero
With a new ship in hand, the fleet headed back
Light up the home beacon, as we need rest from this attack
about time

This one came out of my brain I dont know when
I see a big W by the worriors in day ten
A large win on the road for all to see
they still dont deserve seed #three
10 days to ponder how
someone hadda bigger cowplow
all your efforts end in vain
cuz M0 is goin against the grain.
it is to good to be true
that barnyard will have four and Merehead only two
recite this phrase
Barnyard wins it in ten days....

"Ice, Ice, Baby". Seems to be the creed by which many (if not all?) live by in this thread. There's some great "rappin' potential" here but hard to tell by your comments if anyone has "takin' the time to take in a game". Looks like I'll have to get my hockey fix somewhere else. Nice use of emoticons, though.

Yah, but the part of the story Stitch Lips aint tellin is that he and I were watchin the championship game together and Stitchy kept sayin "They're gonna blow it again, I cant believe it"
In between the second and third period we skipped over to the Liffey to have a really cold beverage (the kind you cant get at a high school game) and we called slapshooter who was watching the game at some bar up by wherever he lives and all he could talk about was how Barribal was schoolin Lee.
After the game Stitch Lips called bluesbuddy who suggested the whole train wreck could be covered up by blaming it on the refs
Thats the whole story.

Yah, well it was the hotel bar.
See, the cover up continues.
In fact, here is a photo of unidentified members of the Shady Bunch , snapped the Sunday morning after the game, caught Red River handed plotting to cover up the wreck

No pirates can stop this from motion
Not even the 'holy' magic potion
Packerboy will kneel and Shanty will bow

The dreams of the "barnyard" get posted again,
Someday they'll "beet" M
RHEAD, the question is when?
"It won't be too long", a shot "M
rris " must take!
It's what Louis 'n' Clark said, when they ran out o' lake!
B(_!_)t here in the "real world", it's all "Up for Grabs" !
Where many a poster's, the victim of jabs!
Yeah there's a lotta heads rollin', all over the place,
There's still lots o' horses, runnin' this race !
Like when Blaine beat Andover, "andover" again!
Andover scored 1, Blaine 1 less than 10 !
And shut out North Metro, 3 to just none,
Blaine beat 'em both, and did it for fun!
Edina(3) took it out, on Elk River(1) too,
for beatin' CP, who'd not had a clue!
Minneapolis West(5) said, "what's up with Monti"(6)?
With a 6-5 loss, no less in OT?
Monti's no longer, a bottom "feeder",
Soon to become a 7th 'r 8th seeder!
Chaska found out, they're in need of a "hero" !
When East beat them soundly, by 4 to just zero!
EGF is "
ut of It", we knew 'fore eleven,
When they had just 1, and W
RR
AD had 7!
Wayzata(3) slipped by, when defeating ol' Hopkins(2)!
Heard it not long, after listenin' to Joplin!
"Oh what a game", myself said to me!
HTown beats Hibbing, by 1 in OT!
HTown scored 6, and Hibbing just 5,
An "unbeaten streak", is still kept alive!
Delano 'n' Litchfield, got nothin' settled!
When neither one scored, and left empty 'medal''d!
The R
MS came to town, and shut out Ap
llo!
A mighty tough act, for CR
KST
N to follow!
Richfield(2) lamented, crying "
h what a crime"!
When Hill/Murray(3) beat 'em, in one overtime!
Now comes week 2, of ol' February,
It's all "Up for Grabs", so "d
ubters" be wary!
Maybe P
Boy'll "grasp it", while he's out carousin',
'cause the "views" count exceeded, 46,000 !

All the pressure has got to be quite a drain
It must cause an ache in that rotating brain
When Lent rolls around his time will be "Up"
It will be swift kick..good thing there's a cup
"For" the trophy long lost the Spuds they will "Grab(s)"
Sorry, once again it will turn out real bad
In the "real world" this thread , we must take to task
Cuz just like before, its "Out of Their Grasp"

In any ol game, where predictions are tossed
Slappy's pick, simply seems to get lost
Never out on a limb, no reason to boast
But after every game, He always will post
"Just like I say, it was just like I said!"
But we can now see, whats truly in his head.
Many thanks to packerboy for the use of "slappys brain" image.

Neut's latest post has got lots of juice
I see Homer's brain has been put to good use
Neut's proud Cougers were fluked by the Spuds
But it comes out a split after the first game drub
The brain has been put in its proper place
Not much gray matter there, not hardly a trace
But neither Cougars nor Spuds can easily prevent
The things that will happen this coming Lent.

HIT IT BOB
Seven days, seven more days she'll be comin'
I'll be waiting at the station for her to arrive
Seven more days, all I gotta do is survive.
She been gone ever since I been a child
Ever since I seen her smile, I ain't forgotten her eyes.
She had a face that could outshine the sun in the skies.
I been good, I been good while I been waitin'
Maybe guilty of hesitatin', I just been holdin' on
Seven more days, all that'll be gone.
There's kissing in the valley,
Thieving in the alley,
Fighting every inch of the way.
Trying to be tender
With somebody I remember
In a night that's always brighter'n the day.
Seven days, seven more days that are connected
Just like I expected, she'll be comin' on forth,
My beautiful comrade from the north.
There's kissing in the valley,
Thieving in the alley,
Fighting every inch of the way.
Trying to be tender
With somebody I remember
In a night that's always brighter'n the day.
