Regarding the EP parents: I was there too and agree with wildthing.
The comment "the remaining (parents) pounded on the glass everytime something didn't go their way" is a little far fetched. Just because one parent and non-parent fan had an issue, it is not fair to label the ALL the EP parents/fans.
It was a great game by both teams.
Good luck to Mtka tomorrow!

Thanks Greenheart....The grand total was 2, one a parent. Great game for both teams.

Big Congrats to East black and Centennial. Great weekend of hockey!! Rapids played well all weekend, but made it to Sunday with the tie breaker. Sauk Rapids won their first 2, only to lose their third and lose on a tie breaker. Pretty crazy outcome.
Good luck East, represent D11 well!!

Always a good day in Eden Prairie when only two parents get tossed during a game, makes you proud, doesn't it?
Best fans in the state.

Dalakonig and Woodsticksniper,
Congrats to Richfield. You guys showed up and played a nice game. Our guys froze and didn't seem to handle the pressure of the game well. Definitely a "deer in the headlights" kind of day for them.
Good luck at State...you will represent District 1 well.

SWprez,
I was at this game also, and I did not have a player playing in that game. Were you the goal judge that had the parent and non-parent thrown out of that game?

Cenntennial had a good team and rapids couldn't finish. I Personally thought that the first to goals scored by centennial should have not been allowed. The first one was high sticked off of Rapids goaltender and then put in and the second one was a shot from the point off a face off and the goalie had it covered but no whistle and next thing,it was in the net.
Also Congrats to Rapids to beat duluth east red 4-2!!!
Also good luck to the northern teams at state!!

Fred,
My kid plays for MPLS*Park BB1. I came out to the rink to watch the game as I enjoy watching two good teams lay everything on the line and skate their hearts out. Call it an addiction. Both EP and Minnetonka did this and it was a fun game to watch and like always in this situation...too bad that one team had to lose. I was not a minor official but just a spectator.

In my opinion Burnsville is a WAY better team the Richfield so is EP

I agree, but as in all State Tournaments, the best 8 are never there.
That's why they have the playoffs.
Prez- That goalie of yours must have played pretty well on Sat morn.
I hear he faced 48 shots. Sent back 45 of them. That is a big reason Burnsville is not in the tourney.

Richfield and Mpls park did accomplish what they aimed to do. Both beat a D6 team and one of the two made it to state. Great job!

It should be noted that Richfield's team is comprised of every single kid who tried out for Bantams this year--all 16 of them--including a Peewee aged kid who had to play up to round out the team. Amazing. It might be an uphill battle for them in New Ulm, but what a story, and a great example of what hard work and great coaching can do when your numbers are small.

D6 Rocks,
Yep, I'm biased as he is my kid, but goaltending was the difference all year for our team. He is depressed right now that he can't play until AAA fires up in three weeks. We need him playing hockey all the time or he beats up his sister! Burnsville threw 26 shots in the third period of the game and got stoned.

Having played Burnsville and Richfield several times this year I can say this: Burnsville is a much better team when it comes to skills and execution of hockey plays; Richfield is (and this isn't a knock on Burnsville) a better team when it comes to HEART. There isn't a kid on their roster that is afraid to go into a corner and fight for the puck. They are scrappy, rarely take penalties, and they finish. They will be a handful for some of the teams at state and they shouldn't be underestimated. They won't win by being pretty...if they win, it will be because they outworked their opponents. Playoffs need a cinderella team....they are the team.

I'd have to say that I was pretty shockey that WBL didn't do any better in regions. They had great teamwork and great speed. I was supprised that WBL Black didn't make it to state either.

So you're saying that Richfield's #1 bantam team played a B schedule and made the state tournament. Isn't that something!!

Blake's #1 team (no A team) - playing a B schedule. Congratulations, I think.
