District 1

Just like District 8, District 1 had a championship game that was everything a championship game should be. Two evenly matched teams fighting it out with seesawing scoring.

MPLS*Park 6
Richfield 5

Incredible game. Just when MPLS*Park looked like they would be running away with the game Richfield would fight right back. Came down to a pulled goalie for Richfield in the last 1:30, but they couldn't put the biscuit in the basket. Didn't have the overtimes that D8 had, but the parents on both sides were biting a lot of fingernails all game.

Most importantly, well refereed game. I have seen District games where the refs wanted to be the center of attention rather than the game. These refs did a great job letting the kids play hockey.

A great game between two good teams. Good luck to both at South Regionals. MPLS*Park takes the #1 seed. Richfield will play Sunday against Highland for the #2 and #3 seeds

This is the best time of year. The best hockey, at all levels, is played with many exciting games as the past couple of posts indicate.

The added bonus - we are inching closer to spring

if rapids players there good goalie they have a very good chance at making it to state.

Rapids won't get to state.. Period. They have to get through D10 #1 Sauk Rapids, D11 #2 Moose Lake, and D11 #3 DE Red; and then beat the #1 or #2 team from the other bracket, which is I Falls, Ely, Centennial Red, and DE Black.

ok whatever you say i have been watching these guys almost all year. they beat mooselake 6 to 1 mooselake beat de red 4 to 2 and rapids is just as good as ifalls aslong as they dont have to play centenial red in a fourth game they have a shot

Or maybe you just play for Rapids... Cuz I Falls has played Rapids 3 times and Won- 7-6, Tied 2-2 and Won 4-2 for the IR District Championship.

You obviously weren't there, the game didn't go into overtime. And who is the "better" goalie?

Posted: Wed Feb 27, 2008 4:53 pm
by rbkhockey4life
alright i was wrong about the overtime i am gettin old cant remember to well. and the better goalie is the one that is the captain

Well he played in the IR championshipe and let in 4 so I'd say that either goalie isn't spectacular.

no he didnt he play half the game after the other one let in four and then he held ifalls scoreless the rest of the game is what all the dads said at the arena
