Who would be considered a bottom feeder? I believe Kittson and RLF may suprise a team if it gets to that point. Not that I am completely disagreeing with your assessment of the section, just that I have a different feeling about some teams. I do not trust the goaltending that RLF and KC have but at the same point in time the puck bounces where it wants in late Feb into early March...
The bottom feeders are the bottom 2; they get to play the top 2...
so we have
Warroad
EGF
Bemidji
TRF
PR
Crookston
LOW
RLF
Hallock
Bagley
Walker
11 teams
So..
#6 vs #11 #11 will not win.
#7 vs #10 does not matter, neither will beat #2
#8 vs #9 does not matter, neither will beat #1
So #7 to #11 are bottom feeders.
Did I forget anyone?
That is your best post I have ever read!

Well, thank you.
But now lets looks at another perspective.
Cinderella was a fairy tail character, but Cinderella Stories happen all the time.
So given that each team starts the game with a ZERO on the board and it takes only ONE to win. And a determined goalie, D that work hard and a Foreward putting the puck off someones leg itno the net....
ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.
And that's the good thing; elite, middle of the roaders, bottom feeders...
they gotta get it done on the ice to get on the road to St Paul.
And that keeps us coming back.

Elliot is right Cinderella is a fictional character... But like I said many timesI'll give Park a chance to beat a TRF, EGF, or Bemidji Warroad. at any time. But for them to Win 2-3 big games in a row against 3 quality oppenents is not going to happen unless pigs grow wings and fly.

Shakopee in '05... it doesnt happen often but when it does it is something exciting for that team. Check section 6A on the link below. They only went 13-14-2 that year and still danced into the tourney on the shoes of a hot goaltender...

I would hate to be Kittson coming into Bagley next weekend with how they are playing.
Not meaning to be harsh here but Coach...a win is a win and a loss is still a loss regardless of the excuse. Maybe you should spend more time preparing YOUR team instead of expounding on the possibilities of the underdogs beating the big dogs on here.

Curious, have you actually watch a "big dog" (who your thinking about isn't a big dog) play THIS season if not; your reality may be a bit skewed.

You're in a perfect position to prove it instead of yapping about it....now go to work.

Of course it would be exciting for the team and for the community but it WILL NOT HAPPEN. They don't have the depth or a strong enough schedule to pull off 3 games in a row.

I have seen many games and will continue to watch other teams play. I enjoy hockey no matter who is playing it as long as it is being played correctly. I understand the yapping but right now I am being paid to yap as I am sitting at work and will be for an hour or 2 yet. Not to mention, practicing til 10pm on a Sunday is a perfect way to get the school, the parents and the MSHSL all over you and that is not something I am willing to put the kids, the parents or the MSHSL through...

Well I will start with the big 4 in no particular order. TRF, Bemidji, EGF, and Warroad. Those are the only 4 teams that will win a section 8a title. I'm glad you think I know it all.

Why TRF? They play a schedule that is suitable for winning a championship and they as a program have done it before.

3 of those 4 stand no chance...and we know who those 3 are...

#7 and #8 seeds rarely if ever win quarterfinal sectional games. In section 8 lore, Moorhead is the only #8 seed I can think of, if there are more, I'm here to listen and learn. As far as #7 seeds go, I think Mt. St. Benedict did it in the late 70's. As far a Moorhead's upset in '86, they were an #8 out of 21 teams, not #8 out of 11. Two class hockey, at least in section 8's case has completely eliminated any chance of an 8 seed winning a quarterfinal game. Why? Because the #1 seed is as good as they've ever been and the 8's aren't.
Bagley & Walker have zero chance of winning a quarterfinal game from the 8 hole and LOW, RLF, and Crox would need some luck and a Herculean effort from the guy in the pipes to be even tied with 10 minutes left in the game to win from that same 8 hole.
If we still had one class hockey, could this year's 7 and 8 win a game?
#1 Roseau
#2 Warroad
#3 Brainerd
#4 Moorhead
#5 EGF
#6-8 seeds, you figure it out
TRF
Bemidji
Park Rapids
Fergus Falls
Alexandria
Little Falls

As you said, Shanty, they would need a Herculean effort by the man between the pipes... TRF or EGF could do it, but not likely...
PR I would have #5 because they WILL beat Crookston, and TRF which, IMO, SHOULD put them above EGF come Section time with an undefeated record...

Careful... some of them are my wife's relatives.
But most of her relatives are just north of Wannaska, up in McKinnock, next to the river.
