I haven't seen Irondale in any top 20s--their only losses are to Breck and BSM. Does anybody know if they're for real? I see they don't have a lot of quality wins and none against top 20 opponents. But they've beaten MV and North now.

Hill Murray should be considered for this list. Played strong SOS close.

Hastings too maybe?

Irondale playing well, along with Armstrong, but still early...

Re: Irondale. I see Anna McDonald's younger sister, Gina is scoring quite a bit for Irondale.

hastings and irondale should be on the list, I wonder if stillwater really should be, they are not looking as fearsome as they ussally do...everything should fall into place after christmas and then th list will reflect a truer picture of where teams should be

Unfortunately for Irondale they may have a tougher road to get ranked than most as they haven't been a ranked program historically. This is some of the bias that is shown though when you enter humans into the ranking process instead of just looking at W's & SOS.

I'm not certain that anyone should be so quick to write-off SW. Simply too many good solid players there, good coach, etc., etc. I would think that any team that loses a player of Jones' caliber and that also plays that SOS would need a period of acclimation.

It's just too early to tell with many teams I think.

I wouldnt write off stillwater yet. They dont have a superstar anymore but they do have 3 solid lines a very good defense and two solid goalies. I think there senior goalie is underrated. They wont blow anyone out anymore but I also dont think there is a team in the state that they cant play with.

Ironedale is for real, 6 to 8 excellent skaters, 3 to 4 elite maybe, and a fantastic goalie. Only problem is, they have no depth, and other than Udvig are very young. They skate primarily 2 lines or less all game.

HM again shows they are a team deserving of consideration. Top SOS and many close games against top teams. 2-1 L with 1:30 left in OT with nearly equal shot count vs #5AA CEC illustrates this.

HM is going to end up to be rated about number 30 in the state, they are severely lacking in the scoring department, they have one of the best defensemen in the state with Casey Knajeck (Her name is spelled wrong) who shuts down other team and is on the ice for 2/3 of the game Kristen Peterson is a very solid D when she's on the ice and that makes them tough to score on but right now the stumph girl is the scoring threat

This is from the Star Trib I assume. PP has their own today as well I see...

It's interesting to see how readership may influence these - or at least it can seem that way...

Looking back at who was rated last week AP wise I seen Wayzata was rated 10th and Coon Rapids 9th. Interesting, Wayzata beat Coon Rapids but yet Coon Rapids in the dropped hmmmmm...

Anyway we have a game Saturday with Wayzata and that should be fun.

I'm guessing that some look at more than just this one game, but I'm not saying I personally agree or disagree...
