It is funny how the people who come on here and whine about hating banner talk, have never won a real one. Who said anything about Roseau people hating Moorhead. It is a hockey rivalry that Roseau dominated for years. Moorhead has turned into an elite program and has turned the tables. The tables will again turn and Roseau will get their due. Warroad will continue to dominate class a and be proud. THe SPud talk on this board is nauseating. So you've had a few good years. Why don't you finally get to the state tournament and win it, instead of acting like you do. As far as Roseau fans, I would rate them as tops in the state. I often marvel at the fact that Roseau usually has more fans at St. Cloud during tournaments than any opponent we face and that includes a 5 hour drive. 29 trips to state, 6 banners, 2 in the 90's, not bad for a tiny town in northern Minnesota! Some of you say quit living in the past, that's history. I say, At least we have some!!! <p></p><i></i>

I think the main reason that people dislike Moorhead so much is that they are in the State Tournament just about every year! I get sick of seeing the same uniforms year in and year out, and seeing as how my team hasn't been close to the tournament in, well, EVER, I like to see new teams, different uniforms, and the occasional school that I've never heard of! I have nothing against Moorhead, but I always cheer for the "other guys" because I'd like to see Roseau, Tech, Apollo, Alex, Bemidji, River Lakes (? Never heard of them), or Monti make it! But the best team is going to win the section, and for much of the past 15 years, the best team has been Moorhead. Just face it everybody, Moorhead has a very, very, very good program! <p></p><i></i>

Good point slappy, new jerseys ought to solve that issue, unless ,of course ,there is some kind of phobia driving things.<br><br>Well, now that we have diagnosed Spudphobia as a somewhat endemic conditon of the board afflicting so many a fine poster, its difficult to know what people like.<br><br><br>They hate Catholics because they are all rich and recruited. They hate da Spuds. Who do they like? A huge metro suburban school from an affluent area? <br><br>That would be a switch.<br><br><br> <p></p><i></i>

I respect moorhead hockey, and what they have done with their program. I do not respect the Moorhead fans. I have seen the types of workout programs the Moorhead players are even givin before they start high school. This is a well structured hockey program all through the youth to high school. I personally wish Roseau would start something the same.<br><br>Roseau fans were ONCE the best in the state, but we have all seen how quickly these fans quit supporting the team during a few off seasons. Today it is just family, and the die hard fans that show up. I can't remember a time that the memorial has been packed even for a Roseau/Warroad game since the 99/00 season. <br>(On a side note....I would like to say I am very impressed with the Grand Rapids fans. They show up to the games, and cheer like crazy, despite not having a team that has gone to state in 15 years.)<br><br>Ok, geographically Moorhead is in the "North." They only lack that small school spirit (I couldn't think of a better word) that most of the other teams in northern AA have. <p></p><i></i>

A RIVALRY YOU'VE DOMINATED? Now you are all screwed up buddy, there was no rivalry started until 1992, when I and my teamates beat your asses handily for our first stater tourney appearance. WAIT, credit where it's due you do have history and before 92 there was no rivalry b/c Moorhead had a sub-par program, it was Cullen like it or not that started the program in an upward trend, and since this so-called rivalry began (which was 92) We have beaten you badly most of the time and you had a good team in 99' and 00'. So shut your friggen pie hole I get really ticked off at people spout off regardless of their home team! <p></p><i></i>

Even if you use '92 as the cutoff (which is weak), Roseau has still won more State Championships than Moorhead. <p></p><i></i>

what's weak about it, it's not a comparison of titles, it's a response to GReen and white fan's quote that "it's a rivalry Roseau has dominated for years" there was and in my opinion is no valid rivalry, if you want to say there is it would have began in 92. give me some history between mhd and Roseau before then. Roseau refused to schedule Moorhead in the regular season before 92, so there was no rivalry to speak of before that. So saying Roseau has dominated the rivalry is just plain wrong. My guess would be if you look at the record overall, you will see that Moorhead has dominated the rivalry back to the beginning of time. Slappy, did you not notice your Moorhead bantams losing to Roseau this year 5-3, 7-1, and 5-3. Maybe they will have better luck in the first round at regions.<br><br>This group of boys is ALOT-3-1. Their three losses came to Centennial (they split with them on the season), WBL (they only met once), and Eden Prairie (they split with them this season too).<br><br>So like i said, enjoy the top of the cycle while you are there. It looks like WBL, Centennial, Eden Prairie, and Edina will still be around, and Roseau will be back, but Moorhead will be sitting at home during the state tournament. <p></p><i></i>
