Minnesota Made kids can play for both MM and local association but they are mites and squirts. When they hit peewees it is going to be a different story.
But there are roughly 70 pee wees playing at MM right now and most play for their associations too?
YES, I THINK THAT WAS PART OF THE AGREEMENT NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT.
The rules regarding this were re-written after the Brad & Bernie show was over.

If the wrong people found out they would be denied playing on their local association team unless those teams/associations did not mind being sanctioned.
Mark, AAU Hockey rosters are not a "second roster" in the eyes of USA Hockey. It's no different than if a kid is listed on the playbill of the school play or shows up in a church league volleyball match.

Much as we want to have some control over this activity, we can't. I just don't see how District 6 can stop it if I bring a team to play Eden Prairie's Squirts at Minnesota Made under an AAU sanction.
I am not saying they can stop it.
Just take sanctions. There is a provision in the rules that says a team cannot be put together before the state MH tournament. I know the language ahs been changed since the lawsuit but part of it still exists.
I do not know it verbatimas I never have todeal iwth it.

I think O-town is 100% corret accept the part about playing the Eden Prairie Squirts. I THINK because the Eden Prairie Squirts are under "umbrella" of USA Hockey and MN Hockey this could not occur. NOW that said, if those kids on the Eden Prairie Squirts wanted to also come together on a separate deal under the AAU umbrella and play O-Twon made up AAU team at that point MN Hockey and it's districts would have zero jurisdiction to sanction anyone any more so than if these kids were all playing AAU basketball outside of their associations. Are these scenarios likely, I don't know look at what is going on at the "Made" and you tell me, will it be widespread, not now but who knows in the future, is there anything MN Hockey or USA Hockey can legally do about it, NO....

I certainly hope not...
May be taking that road

Of course it's different. What a silly comparison.

You can bring a team but I don't think the Eden Prairie Squirts will play them. Also, what a bunch of far-fetched speculation about nothing. Your team would have a better experience signing up for a Minnesota Squirt tournament. And, I'll add, involve your child in respected activities or they'll end up thinking slippery is ok.
When has tune changed?

AAU hockey lies outside the scope of USA Hockey. How is that a silly comparison?

So maybe Eden Prairie Squirts don't play us, plus I'm not brining a team. My question is how could Minnesota Hockey, USA Hockey, or the District Mark is from do anything to stop it. Sure he can say they'd sanction a program, but the truth is you can't if the people that want to push this go about it the right way.

AAU has a DAILY rate for host rinks according to what one rink manager told me. How a rink rents its ice is of no concern to USA Hockey. They can't stop the local rink from offering up two hours on a Saturday to some church group so they certainly can't stop them from selling it to a guy that schedules some hockey under the AAU banner.

Funny you'd call it far-fetched speculation about nothing when USA Hockey no longer oversees the Western States Junior Hockey League (I think that's the one) and some Mite age hockey in Michigan and Colorado. Enough people know the reality that all the rules in the world can't really prevent some things from happening if that's what people really want to do.

I'm as big of a proponent of USA Hockey and its initiatives as you'll find. I also know that because others have a different vision for how hockey is played (see EHF) there will be a faction that operates at the fringe or even outside the lines.

Just curious as to who annointed you the world's moral compass?
