You cannot be serious. The 3rd and 4th lines saw plenty of ice time in the 3rd.

No way to sugarcoat this one. Congrats to Tonka.

Funny that arguably the top two teams in the state have played twice now, and each game has been a dud, one in each direction. Also, the winning team has been outshot in both.

With the East second line mostly out, it was no surprise to see Tonka's second line have such a huge game. Also, credit to Behounek for making some big saves when East had some energy in the second period. They had a chance to climb back in for a while there, but they couldn't quite get one in, and after that the floodgates opened.

For East, time to regroup, get healthy, and play out a relatively easy final few weeks of the regular season. For Tonka, time to take their new ranking into Lake Conference play.

It's actually a good thing that they lost handily. The last thing any team needs going into state's is a bunch of kid's thinking they are invincible. East all the way this year.

So did the first line. Didn't they?

Hey, I understand. They were embarrassed in the Schwan Cup and had the opportunity on their home ice against a team missing four of their top players, to return the favor. Bravo.

Not much worse than the first time. In each the winner tripled the others' score. The rematch should be a fun one. :D

Well if we arent sugar coating it... East had Valesano, Parker, and Olson out, with Repensky not game ready yet. Puff up Minnetonka all you want they still beat a team that wasnt who it should have been.

I hope so, too, because it'd mean East made it to state.

So you're saying Minnetonka should have kept their 3rd and 4th lines out there the whole third period when they are playing the #1 team in state? Because that makes a whole lot of sense..

Nice win Tonka. Millions of excuses can be made about why they won/why East lost, but a game is a game and this is January, not December.

No question East missed some of their top guys but lets give Tonka some credit, The only D man missing was Repenskey being less than 100%. The quality of Tonka's scoring chances would be a big concern. I know parker is their #1 but Coatta scored 4 times uncontested from inside 15 feet. Not too many goalies are stopping those. I still like the Hounds to win it all but a few missing forwards was not their problem today. Agree with other posters that I'd love to see them play the rubber game, maybe both teams will show up for that one!

That's what a lot of Packer fans told themselves after their lost to KC.

Look what happened... first 15-1 team to not win a playoff game.

Man that was brutal. Congrats to tonka tho, they looked good. The players east has out would have played a huge roll in a closer game , but it is what it is. They will bounce back, they always do. At this point IMO they should keep Olson and repensky out until playoffs. Val will be back which should get the second line up and rolling again.

And please. For the love of all that's right. Get Parker back in..... That's all I'm gonna say about the goalie situation.

Karl just out of curiosity what new ranking (for Tonka) are you talking about? Couldn't possibly be related to the state rankings right???

In my rankings at least, yes.

And as for my Viking fan friends, this is where I fall back on a statistic I rather like.
