2 things they could have done to improve ratings by far...
- NOT have it on a monday after a holiday weekend, and moved to the following weekend
-Just had AnY sort or fsn advertisement with local sports channels supporting the game..
Now im not even saying duluth news channels announce the tonka/hill game or whatever, but at least let ppl know when east, cec, denfeld or hermantown is playing. At least we would have been supporting our teams and letting ppl know about our local team

Good morning all. I just called FSN and they did say that the game WILL be on TV. Here is their number for all to confirm for them selves. 612) 486-9500.
Did you ask about the rest of the schedule??
Sorry I did not. I also got conformation form some players that the games today will be on TV.
seek & destroy wrote:Gov78 wrote:Comcast still shows it as on today as does today's Strib but I have to go with RinkRat and assume it's not.
Anyone know if the audio will be broadcast on the internet?
It was also announced on the local TV morning shows that both games would be broadcast today on FSN. Could this whole thing be a big hoax that we have all fallen for or is FSN definitely pulling the plug?
I find it strange that the Strib, TV stations and Comcast/Charter are all showing it as being still on today but we are all assuming that it is off due to postings on this site.
Has FSN ever confirmed that they are done with all broadcasts but the "hockey day" ones?
What sources are you using? lol Ill be sure to not use any of them in my upcoming schedule conflicts

The Game was scheduled to start at 12:45 according to Direct Tv and they are showing under the lights so maybe it is being canceled.

Here is a thought..... go watch them live. TV is not like being there.
I think what he was getting at was seeing all the best teams in the state on TV .. Driving to Warroad down to Minneapolis every Tuesday isn't to practical now is it.. Im pretty sure he wasn't talking about driving 5 minutes to a local game...

Sure I'll pile my 4 kids into the van and we'll head to the game - great!... and pretty sweet paying $25 for everyone to get in. I'll take the TV option.

I'd rather watch the local peewee team play... or of course watch it on TV.

You have to love how they show a soccer game instead of the hockey games

I recorded the game and watched it after confirming the high school games were not on. I knew the U.S. team won, but was at least able to get my hockey fix in. Looking forward to the U.S.-Canada game, I believe on New Years Eve.

I just paid $18 for me and my younger son to watch JV play at Schwan's Rink.....
I have the same type of guilt and shame as if I were "violated." I am not a fan of being taken advantage of while my clothes are on!!!

I have known LaPanta for several years, and he isn't returning my email..
I had a littler birdie offer up the suggestion that the MSHSL didn't want the games shown on TV, because they needed a higher gate attendance at the Xcel... The venue at the X is very expensive, and no TV coverage meant the tourney was expecting another 2,000 attendance at an avg of $8 a shot... Not sure this is accurate, but just an opinion....
Does make sense...

We went to the X today and watched 3 games. Pretty good deal, 9 and under were free, you can leave and come back for the night games and you don't have to pay again. Anyway, there was nobody there, very small crowds. I realize it's a big arena but there was no "emotion" etc, not like on an FSN night. The school section was non-existent so if this was a ploy to get fans to the games, it didn't work today. From the number of fans in attendance the MSHSL lost a lot of money today.

The Schwan shouldn't be at the X.

Don't sweat it they will just tax the serfs into submission to cover the cost. Money is NO problem

12.00 bucks a day for adults
27 (if I recall for a tournament pass)
9 and under free and I think the student tickets are 6.00 a day.

At Champlin last night it was $10 for the day or $23 for the tournament.
