The kid is 18 years old, i'd say it's inevitable that he'll put on some weight in the next few years. Saying he'll need to put on some weight is about as relevant as saying he'll have to put on his skates to play at the next level...mn miracle man wrote:If you are referring to Brock Nelson, then I suggest you look away from the program and take a look at him away from his equipment. If it says that on the program then it is purely a stat for scouts to take a gander at, in all seriousness however he will need a get a little bigger to make those next steps. Not saying he is not physical by any means, just saying to take his game to the highest level it is something inevitable for the young man.
Alright take it easy buddy, all I stated is that he is tall and skinny right now. He truly is the real deal and has what it takes to be the next Warroad NHL prospect once he fills out his frame a bit. No need to be a smart*** thats's all.Tavern wrote:The kid is 18 years old, i'd say it's inevitable that he'll put on some weight in the next few years. He already is Warroad's NHL prospect...i'm not sure who the next one will be.mn miracle man wrote:Alright take it easy buddy, all I stated is that he is tall and skinny right now. Max Gardiner didn't help his cause on TV the other night. There are alot of other more deserving players out there.Tavern wrote:He already is Warroad's NHL prospect...i'm not sure who the next one will be.mn miracle man wrote:Alright take it easy buddy, all I stated is that he is tall and skinny right now. I don't think Gardiner played poorly. I think there are prolly better players in the state, but Max had a pretty good game (3 ast's) against Blaine...flatontheice wrote:Max Gardiner didn't help his cause on TV the other night. Well according the to Fall Players to Watch list he is an A prospect, I believe the list was posted earlier this fall on here. I was merely saying Nelson is next in line to be a Warroad HS draft pick, preceded by TJ Oshie in the first round in 2005, and Aaron Marvin in the third round in 2006. As far as the next one goes only time will tell.Tavern wrote:He already is Warroad's NHL prospect...i'm not sure who the next one will be.mn miracle man wrote:Alright take it easy buddy, all I stated is that he is tall and skinny right now. Alright I did leave the door open for a comment such as that! hahaDmanDad1980 wrote:Next one...mn miracle man wrote: Well according the to Fall Players to Watch list he is an A prospect, I believe the list was posted earlier this fall on here. If he is not in the current Warroad youth program, Marvin Windows is always looking for a new "line supervisor" with the appropriate stud hockey player in the family...![]()
Sorry, I know, I know, but I couldn't resist...
The coach tells him to play that way. So should he not listen? They want to get him as much ice time as possible, his job is to strictly score goals and then the defense relies on his brother to do the other part. Maybe you like it maybe you dont but thats what it is. It would have been nice to see him play in the elite league which he turned down but saw him play alot for the owls and he does play both ways there. So its not like he just says screw defense. And obviously the strategy is working looking at their record last year and their start this year. Sure its against bad teams, but its not like they are going to state anyways.LetsPlayHockey22 wrote:Completely not impressed with Benik last night...sure he had one really nice goal on a good break, and the score sheet might indicate he had a good performance with 3 goals, but he did not play any defense at all and was invisible most of the game not getting hardly any quality shots. He can score goals as good as anyone but he needs to learn all aspects of the game before being mentioned for a possible Mr. Hockey
I guess it depends on what scouting service you want to use. The latest Int'l Scouting Services top 30 has Bjugstad at #15 and the next MN HS player is Nelson at #28. I like Woodlief at Red Line Report as he tends to be entertaining but he also does tend to go outside of the box a little more with his rankings than most do. Nothing wrong with that though.mulefarm wrote:The latest Redline Report had the following rankings. Max Gardiner 15, Nick Bjustad 20, Brock Nelson 36, Justin Holl 76
I was going thru these posts, and I was ready to say the exact things you said about Gardiner.SoftMitts wrote:Max Gardiner played very well against Blaine. The freshman would not have had any of the chances with out Max doing the majority of the work.
I thought Bjugstad looked good for how much ice he logged in a tough game.
