Day 1 of EP tournament:
Chaska/Chanhassen 2, Edina White 1.
Wayzata Blue 2, EP Black 1.
Edina dominated play & lost(goalie iffy), Wayzata dominated play & won, just couldn't put puck in net much.

Went to the Eagan/OMG game yesterday. Eagan has an excellent goalie.

OMG beat Elk River 3-0 in semi final, and Edina Green beat OMG 8-0 for the championship in Hermantown.

I don't know if they can be classified as a surprise, but credit is due to Shakopee. Based on their record they've played very well this year, including a resounding victory over Edina White.

Agree: Teams with no A team need their own league. Playing true B-1 teams and "winning" shouldn't really count.

Wayzata Blue VS Gold was a tie. Blue put up an egg...and was robbed by a couple questionale calls. Gold isn't that good. But "that's why they play the game".

Listen you babies, let associations decide what level their kids should skate at that is the most appropriate level of the majority of their players. Until some "only B team" is ranked #1 and wins 3 state titles in a row let them be. It's a good test for your B team. I'm sure they have 2-3 A level players. You think Edina, OMG, Wayzata, etc., don't? Successful teams helps their recruiting and I'm sure they'd love to skate A if they thought it was the right thing to do for the majority of their kids.

I agree. We moan that we're tired of sitting for an hour and a half watching our A team beat up on a lowly association, but when they drop down to B1, we moan that it doesn't really count when they beat us because they don't have an A team.

I agree. The best "B" teams all have a few "A" level players, whether b/c of huge numbers (Edina/Wayzata/ OMGHA) or because they field no "A" team (Shak/Waconia/small towns). That's the way it is.

Shakopee PWB1 beat one Edina team and lost to the other and also lost to Waconia. It seems they are at the right level. Its certainly better for the kids than than losing most games by 10 goals (or winning those games).

I guess that will make it hard to win the State Tournament. That seems okay, too.

I hear you knocking...sorry for blowing up. After much thought and a few brews I agree. Seriously, good points.
