Do yourself a favor and check out their websites:

www.mnmiraclehockey.org

www.cyclonehockeyacademy.com

Contact their respective program directors and get your questions answered from the source...I am sure both of them will be happy to explain their programs.
Anyone know whatever happen with Miracle joining the new showcase group like the Easton teams?

http://www.ccmaaahockey.com/
also here:
http://www.wideworldofhockey.com/League ... -teams.htm
click the drop down under Minnesota.

Miracle was listed on the site for about a month... as an OPEN team.
Now this miracle site has them as an Elite Premeier Team
I wouldn't consider the Miracle team an "Elite Premeir" team by any stretch. Just a marketing slogan...they are an "open" program.

IMO, "Elite Premier" summer AAA programs would be the Blades, Machine, Icemen, and Lake Superior Stars. Some may even argue that list, but most would agree, I think.

After those teams that is a group that would include the Edge, Mission (ITR), Northern Edge Nationals, RBK, Easton, Duece, Snipers, etc. These teams are still considered "invite" but not the "premier" ones listed above.

I may have missed a couple of programs but just about everyone who is not in that list would be considered "open" AAA programs...then you have different levels of those as well....

This is just my opinion, though.

MNG,
You have your rights to your own opinions...

Please explain your differences between Premiere and Invite.
Is it wins and losses or success in Development?
No one should argue Machine and Blades as Premiere….
Icemen & LSS????

My opinion is both Wins and losses against your listed “premiere" teams and the success in development of the individual players.

Regarding wins, Cyclone 96 & 97 Teams beat Icemen and LSS, but never played Machine or Blades last year.
And the others listed as invites were man-handled in Lake Superior Ice Cup, by Cyclone teams.

Is RBK even having teams this year?

DMOM,

BTW, I added Cyclone back to MNG's list of "Invite" Teams... maybe that was your pot stirring attempt
I added the Cyclones back to my list also, I forgot to include them initially.

The problem is the number of teams each program has. I'm more familiar with the 95 birth year than the others, so I use that as my main point of reference, others might use a later birth year.

GENERALLY SPEAKING, though, the four teams I listed have had a tradition of winning against the other top programs as well as winning most of the top invite tournaments in the area. For the past several years, the four programs I listed as "premier" have been the top programs for the 95 birth year. I would put them in a tier above the second group I listed. Last year, the Cyclones didn't even run a 95 team so it's tough to say how they will stack up this year. I'm pretty confident, however, that they will be pretty competitive with the other "invite" teams I listed.

As far as the younger birth years go, I would say the Machine and Blades would still be considered "premier", I'm not as sure about the Icemen or LSS. I haven't seen them play at all.

Yes, RBK is running teams this year.

Is the RBK group still going to be around? I see that the Northern Edge is now flying the RBK flag.

I think we know I didn't edit anything. I have no desire to stir that particular pot. Good-luck.

I have to say the invitation for the free week of ice, and allowed to attend every tryout ( 9hrs of ice for 15$), didn't seem to make the Miracle too money hungry. I believe both programs are heading in the right direction. Thank you for your help........ Is it a later than sooner thing with the Cyclones being on par with the Blades and Machine ?

It all depends on what kind of coaches/players they can attract and what kind of reputation they build for themselves. It has been said before, they are essentially copying the MM model and if they can recruit the elite players from the northern suburbs who would otherwise have to make the drive all the way down to Edina to play for Bernie, than they have a bright future.

From what I understand, if development is your main concern than you made a good choice going with the Cyclones, your child will get PLENTY of ice.
