If given a fair chance by the coaching staff Thompson could find himself on the sidelines again, a new kid from Alaska named Kalvyn Pugh could be their man, Highly recruited by the BCHL and MWEHL teams this last summer he could sneak in and carry a young Cloquet team. Lets hope for the Jacks benifit small town politics don't get in the way of State aspirations.

Cloquet has two seniors battling for the starting job... Jordon Thompson and Jeff Dunaisky.

Looks like Kalvyn Pugh is the next best thing to sliced bread, forget about the tryouts make him the starting goalie right now!

No he's not, you must be thinking about Wilcox from SSP.

Went to Cloquet captains ice this afternoon to see if what i have heard was true after reading these posts and saw the Thompson kid standing on the side alot while the Pugh kid was playing king of the net. Has quick feet and looked fundamentally solid. Actually kinda boring watching him with his good positioning, Will proably start on JV due to the two seniors but if given the chance later on it will be hard to get him out.

altricher isnt all that great...he looked terrible in the advanced 16's got lit up for five goals in the championship and had terrible body language after

5AA
Danny Harper for Blaine and Lance Bortot for Irondale are both very solid.

Are you sure you were watching the right kid?? Thompson will be starting for the jacks if he dont his partner dunaisky will be, so it looks like that makes Pugh third

Edina - Webb and a bunch of offense
Burke will do well @ AHA
Orono- well no question the weak link for a talented team
Blake - Best they can do is a Sophmore from the above mentioned program with less firepower to help out

Section 2A Mustang John Russell should be the best.

What's the goalie situation over at Hill?

Hill has their backup senior goalie (McGinnley) from last year and I would guess the talented, but young sophmore from JV. (Shaunessy) My best guess is that Shaunessy will be the primary. But maybe McGinnly has been working hard all summer and will earn the starting spot.

I agree, I was impressed with what I saw of shaunessy last year. The only downgrade to him is isn't he on the smaller side?

You are right that Shaunessy doesn't exactly fill the net with his body. Last year he was 5'7" and 150 lbs compared to McGinley's 6'1" and 210 lbs. (Flip was 5'9" and 170) Lechner himself was a goalie in high school and college and I don't think he is that tall so maybe size is not that important to him.

I have heard work that this new kid from boston have mover to rosemount. even though they have a week team he could possible help them. i have never seen the kid but he could become big. who knows?

We are talking about the Paul Moberg who gave up 10 goals in one game against an average white bear offense last year right?

And how about Owen Collette, I will admit he hasn't been that consistent, but he delivers on his potential he could be a good one.

Yea that kid that also made a combined 98 saves in 2 games against Grand Rapids, and the kid the kept his team in games against Roseville, Stillwater, Woodbury and beat Cretin. 1 bad game doesn't define a goalie. All you can ask is that your goalie gives you a chance to win every night and Paul Moberg does.
