Yup...incriminate is a very big word. However, words like transparency, conflict and ethical do come to mind!

I guess the Buffalo Youth Hockey Board should have thought about being transparent, having any conflict of interest and being ethical in planning their development programs for ALL participants.

Could this be the reason for the conflict of interest policy that MH just passed at their last meeting?
Ask Lynn Olson or read the minutes carefully for the last year and a half.

Just want everyone to be careful.

For 1 reason, don't want the thread shut down.
2 - don't want the forum shut down.
3 - don't want to discredit anyone's character unless they have had a chance to defend themselves.
4 - there is more but that would have to be PM or email.

Jerry DeMeo, the newly elected secretary-treasurer of Minnesota Hockey, rewrote the conflict of interest policy and got it passed through Minnesota Hockey at the September 2008 meeting.

I don't know - I have been gone from any operations on the club side for over two years.

If there is any dirty laundry from my reign as soccer czar ( ) it would be pretty well fermented or the maggots would have feasted on it by now.

However I am going after the State Association (MYSA) since they have failed to publish Annual Financial Reports to their membership for the past 4 years as required by state law for non-profit organizations

Or is that provide access to? I think most bylaws say those records are available for a nominal printing and data collection fee...or something like that??

You are correct (you know being in sales and marketing I get some wiggle room to embellish), upon request with a certain response time. All of the requirements that I have fulfilled. But with a website and an annual general meeting, why wouldn't you be proactive in publishing the numbers and at least provide the club's presidents that information. It has been over 6 months since my original written request and subsequent monthly follow-up requests.

That is the transparency people want!
I know our young Rogers association, and HS booster club provides the data at the annual meetings, and upon request at any regular scheduled meeting.
I wonder if it's because we're poor

GH...I asked the question to start this thread...I asked the board at a board meeting why they felt it was their right to spend my money..I asked them if it was legal...I asked them about accountability and communication to the Association since in fact the members were the people who were heisted. I had one board member tell me he would pay double to receive this type of development...I told him great he cam pay my share because I didnt believe in it....another women told me if my kid didn't want to be developed then why is he playing hockey...I didn't think this response deserved an answer but responded simply 'for fun?'

The bottom lne is that if i want my kids playing hockey in Buffalo we need to pay this fee, secondly if my kids want to play hockey in Buffalo it is now as expensive as anywhere to play, Lastly, the reason given by the board was that gaming revenues have dropped because of the no smoking policy in the Bars??? Huh? are you kidding me...apparently that is why the cost has tripled. Do several of the board members care? Not if their getting paid to run practices/clinics.
Bottom line is that it is not really the people in the Association that do not do anything that cause Association strife, there are usually enough good people...it is the people who are over the top that end up creating the problem...In Buffalo this is what happened in my opinion and those people need to understand that people are getting sick of their antics.

Not in Buffalo...no REAL accounting...just a hand picked secretary giving updates...no P&L here...just B&S.

I respect the fact that at least you had the bollocks to actually go to a board meeting and make your argument. Too many like to bitch and moan without trying to take direct action. Confronting problems head on without being a turtle ducking back into a shell at least requires someone to either be truthful or lie to your face.

Could be one of the reasons police do not interview or interrogate by mail or email.

I was at the Rogers Arena the other day and overheard this nice young girl from Buffalo talking to a parent about that the fact she had to play for Rogers this year?? HS I think.
Now I don't know if it's because they don't have a girls HS program or u14/15/16 or whatever.
But she made the comment that it went up to 2K to play youth in Buffalo because someone stole all the money, and her dad said we're outta here !

She said she was sad because Buffalo Girls went to state last year and she wanted to do it again, but now she's here in Rogers. :D
Welcome to Rogers! :D

She could have picked somewhere else!!! Bottom line is that Buffalo is down 50+ skaters this season and the reasons are as obvious as the nose on your face. Money is definately an issue...some on the board would say 'good riddence' and let this time heal this wound. I can guarantee you that HOFamer will not forget because someone pickin my pocket is not taken lightly...similiar to the girls father who left the Assn....

It makes me mad to think of the watsed efforts by those who truly wanted BYHA to be a large successful Association...lots of work by people including myself that has gone up in smoke because of the mismangement of this and previous boards. I am not a perfect human...far from it but I would never steal from little kids or make someone pay for something they didn't ask for. Making money and not spending it shoudl be the priority of every board...BYHA works in reverse and non of the board members have an answer to the financial crisis at Buffalo.

That my have been taken out of context, she may have very well meant any where else? I couldn't say for sure.
Sad situation over there...

BTW is this a down year for Bantams over there? Or is Rogers that much better this year? I saw part of the tryout scrimmage.

Bantams are down...way down...I believe they only had 21 skaters sign up...The kids will try hard but the training and development is not evident. Buffalo's last Bantam team to win lowly D5 was the group of seniors this year. Who knows what will happen this season but as always I back the Bison kids and hope they pummel Rogers. I am sure the glasses CNT watched the game through were shaded Royal Blue...

With that said CNT can only be only so much a homer...the Bison will need to get alot better this season at the Bantam level..no doubt about that.

I had to wear those glasses!!..... because I was blinded by the goal lamp continuously being lit by the Royals bantams

BTW where was Buffs goalie? Do you not have one? I was told Rogers provided the goalies.
