As a neutral party I really dont have any biased as to who wins but I do have some opinions.

Rosemount plays a very physical, run and gun kind of game and they dont seem to be the nicest team to play. They seem to make anyone they play hate them and that is fine that works but I know I would hate to play them and after watching them a couple times this year Ive actually gotten sick of the way they play. Saying that I would like Woodbury to win but I havent seen them play at all this year so I know nothing about them except that Im assuming Eddy is the same kid who is a great baseball player.

Then on the other hand I would like Rosemount to win because everytime they dont win they get about 10 people on here backing them up on how it was a "bad game" or "off night" or they just disregard the fact that they got dominated and just start making Tyler Barnes look like a terrible kid.

I honestly hope this game is a good one and maybe we have some OT and Rosemount can pull it together because if they lose it will be because they lost it, not because Woodbury won it.

Numbers don't matter come section time. It's a whole new start.

That's for sure!!

Wigen-1159 minutes played, 2.288 GAA, 52 goals against, 4 shutouts
Morgan-1179 minutes played, 3.071 GAA, 71 goals against, 3 shutouts

the numbers don't lie
Komada. Numbers don't matter come section time. It's a whole new start. Just look North had a horrible regular season, but where are they now, the section final. Living in the past will do you no good. Because anything can happen. And, some of you Woodbury fans need to get your facts straight.
They're too busy living in the past to get their facts straight. THE PAST MEANS NOTHING ROYAL FANS!!!!

Do i hear...excuses? usually i hear that from the Rosemount fans saying this..maybe its not just rosemount fans who make excuses

and Komada good job with the stats..but Wigen only had 3 shutouts during the season as it said season stats, so they both have 4..if you want to count playoffs, or both with 3 if you want to count season

Teams Morgan has shutout compared to the teams Wigen shutout (via Maxpreps)..

Morgan-
Eagan  6-0
Century  6-0
Chaska  4-0
CDH  3-0

Wigen-
Roseville  4-0
Park  7-0
Hastings  6-0
Eagan  10-0

so basically..they both have done their job this season and are BOTH great goalies!

I think Rosemount is the favorite here but I really hope Woodbury pulls it off. Amazing they could make state two years in a row....we were so bad when I went to school there.

What was up with the "Thank you Tony" chant against Eastview?

earlier this year rsmt pulled off a close one 6-5 against woodbury so obviously both teams can score and the goalies are pretty even.

It funny how it has been mentioned that Rosemount had to "win" the game by scoring with 16 or whatever seconds left. And those who have mentioned that, neglected to state that Rosemount was already leading with one minute remaining. Woodbury scored in that final minute, then Rosemount answered for the win.

Both teams have positive and negative factors working for and against them. Eddy is on a roll with Woodbury, while JT may not be scoring with Rosemount lately, he has been contributing to the rest of his line mates... along with a couple of the 2nd liners contributing quite a bit in the past few games.

I smell an overtime game, or one that will at least come down to the wire.

I would like to see the Irish make it, but I got to go with Woodbury on this one. 4-1 with an ENG. Wes is a heck of a coach and has done a great job this year.

You're right numbers mean nothing come sections but I was using the numbers to make the point that Wigen has been better all year (see "season stats" above) which definitely DOES matter come section time

So you're saying even if Woodbury wins they really didn't win??? It does not work that way!!!! Nobody goes out and just has a bad game for no reason at all. Lots of people like to blame losses on a bad game, but that's just an excuse. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the team that won had a really good game and the loser who supposedly had a "bad game" just couldn't keep up? Whoever wins this game will win this game by playing well, not because their opponent is playing poorly.

Actually that happens a lot. NHL, college, and high school. Look at Holy Cross and the Gophers a couple years ago for one example.

Sections is the second season in high school hockey. Both teams have improved greatly since they met last what seems like forever now back in November. Rosemount won that game but at the same time really played sub par hockey that night. Both teams have the momentum from saturday from playing excellent hockey in both games. Whats gonna favor Rosemount now is that they got alot of help from their second line and the defense was outstanding the entire game. Not to mention, Morgan standing on his head pretty much the entire game. For Rosemount, stop Eddy and score in the first few minutes, and they will win this game. For Woodbury, its alittle harder with Rosemounts entire first line and McManus at D, they will really have to focus on always keeping two guys on the back check in there zone to keep up with Rosemount. Looking at the two, Rosemount is the street dog, physical hockey team. Woodbury is the finese team. When its all said and done, Rosemount will just outwork Woodbury physically and I believe win this one to go on to the State Tournament.
Rosemount 6 en
Woodbury 4

Go to bed Mr. Eddy. You're apparently too tired to keep up.

Oh yea- Woodbury will send the Irish fans to the pub to drown their sorrows.

except we're not the drunks like the woodbury fans are. when they came in to take over our spot after the rosemount game was over it just reiked of alcohol. i said i smelled alc and everybody said "Yea, thats me."
lol. this is going to be an awesome game to observe if you like good student sections. its going to be as much of a duel in the stands as it is on the ice.

What was up with the "Thank you Tony" chant against Eastview?
Because the second goal for EV went in off his skate... thats my guess

Funny. And then Woodbury returned with "Thank you Tony" after he assisted on Eddy's goal.

I'm really pleased with Woodbury's student section this year....last year's turnout was just sad at the Cretin Section Final game.

The 2 teams are similar except Rosemount takes some dumb penalties at times. At least they did in the CDH game.

Doubtful that they can do that against Woodbury and win.

Woodbury by a goal.

how does woodbury rotate their lines?

For the Section Championship

These two are pretty close, and I would expect the final score to also be close. Personally, I wanted to see another EV and Rsmt battle with the Section Championship on the line, but wasn't meant to be. I think this one will be very close, and come right down to wire. Some very exciting offensive players to watch. It will be fun.
