hampton is the best in the area although lately he has struggled, but the game he had against cathedral was very impressive

When Cathedral players think that Warroad will be a pushover, that leads me to believe they are a bit arrogant...sorry thats my opinion...

I would agree that Hampton is probably the strongest in the area. He is very technically sound and sees the puck very well. He is naturally very athletic. I then would probably put Maiers/Patten right behind him. The ceiling seems to be pretty high for the both of them. I think they will both gain some serious experience this season with the amount of minutes they will continue to see. I have not seen McGuire play nor Jacobsen from Sauk Rapids. I would say that Houghelin (not sure how it's spelled) and Reynolds are pretty soft between the pipes. Some of the softies that went in on Houghelin against Tech blew the wind right out of the Crusaders sails.

Where in this whole forum has any cathedral fan ever said that Warroad would be a pushover?

Second of all that was a terrible come back.... If you really want to get back at goldy say some thing along the lines of why were you never one of the top goalies in the area?

Lastly its Nate Hoefflin (more notably known around the St. Cloud area as "Wheels")

I will answer that question before it gets used against me.

Because I was fat and slow. I was better known for my ability to put down a pizza than stop a puck.

Can't relax. No time to relax when we're talking about something so serious.

you seem to be pretty in tune with the cathedral team... how is "wheels" in the net??? any youngsters on the jv squad that maybe in the nets soon? or is it a maiers show for the duration?

goldy/blanda - have either of you seen mcguire play from apollo? upside? downside???

Blanda's a little preoccupied right now.....

Maires has the spot to lose for himself. He's in the same position that wheels was in at the start of the season. Wheels and maires where switching off games up until the GCC. After the stunning performance he displayed against tech, Maires pretty much sealed the deal as far as the spot between those two. Kupsky got the start against a pushover against lake of the woods but i wouldn't be surprised if Coach Johnson gives Calvin Hearold a chance one of these games.

It looks like it's Maiers job right now.

As for McGuire...he's legit. I think he's a damn good goalie and could be the starter at every other school in the area, IMO. What sucks for him is that he's stuck behind a very good goalie in Hampton.

I already said that McGuire will be more then capable to take over the starting job when Hampton graduates.

apollo has two great goaltenders in Hampton and McGuire. Kevin is a very solid tender and will have no problems taking over the varsity job when Hampton graduates.

I will say this from what I've seen Hampton will be very tough skates to fill!!!
