In all probability, Alex and LF will probably split their two games this year. Its the neutral ice game at sections that will be interesting.

If one was a betting man, he would bet the Flyers get healthy Thursday night. RL's boys just might take on one the chin. RL has made a lot of teams healthy over the years.

Sorry Bland-one, I will type slower. Little Falls plays River Lakes Stars on Thursday. They have beaten them quite handily as have other teams. I would bet they will beat them by many goals Thursday. Got it? I cannot go any slower. That 8th grade education is not very helpful to you, is it?

No, but high school and college have done wonders for me.

Well, right now, .....Little Falls still favorites, back up goalies aren't always as good as what the Wild has. However, Little Falls' strength isn't in their goalie, but the way they controll games.
Alexandria is really picking up confidence from me to end the Flyers' streak. Detroit Lakes beat Fergus Falls by a goal 2-1 at DL, FF tied Sauk Rapids. Even though both teams have work to do, DL with their own shoulda won losses and FF with a loss to DL and St Cloud Tech, as expected this section is as tight as its ever been. That was serious. This section (formerly 4a for those of you wondering) has historically been a one team show. Some years its been two teams but generally one team has had it from day one.......
Right now...Little Falls, Alexandria, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls........what a nice thing the Central Lakes schedule is , this should be pretty sorted out soon....

I was at the Sauk Rapids game last night and I couldn't be more disappointed in the way the Flyers played. I was almost pleased that my kid's bed time was approaching (we left after two periods).

Goaltending was less than adequate and the defensive corps constantly let the Storm forwards get near breakaways. A couple of the goals were due to lack of their ability to clear the slot.

There were times when LF looked to take it over but then Sauk Rapids sapped them dry with a goal. Kudos to Sauk Rapids for taking advantage of the situation by playing a more complete game.

This section, after what I saw last night, is wide open.

Sauk game may be a bump in the road for LF like morris last year. The floaters are still the team to beat no matter what happens, three straight years of section championships. The section goes through the floaters period.

Little Falls-12
River Lake Stars-0

Maybe the Sauk game opened the Flyers eyes, or maybe it was just because Sperl was in goaly, impressive win for the Flyers.

The River Lakes Stars are a good team for any team to get better against, their record is filled with blowouts.............See what the Flyers do in their next game.

The Dec 31st game against Cathedral will be a great test for the Flyers, we will have to wait and see the outcome.

Sartell huge win, they just might take over for DL as the "watch out" team, at Fergus Falls on Tuesday......DL is fading quick, FF 9 DL 1, Wadena beat DL by about 5.......St Cloud Apollo neads to pick it up....still no team is going to want to play them in the playoffs...Little Falls beats Alexandria by 2..say a 5-3, maybe 5-2 game.....

Will anyone stop Little Falls now?

Little Falls

Little Falls' strength is in the furosity that they score goals. If any team just forfeits goal scoring when Little Falls' studs are on the ice they may get a shot. Doing this eventually will equalize the game and make it honest, such as in LF's penalty kill. You would think after all of this time someone would pick up on their speed. Fergus Falls put up 4 goals on the Flyers, take away a few short handed goals and stay awake after they scored, (anyone familiar with the game knows) and its a tight game. That didn't happen though so Little Falls won and are the best team in the section. I wouldn't give that title to a better groupe of people than that program though....
In section 6a, for sure Detroit Lakes is done being a contender, St. Cloud Apollo is capable of upsets but still sit at #4 in my view. Sartell has become the team no one really wants to play, beating Alex and tying Fergus Falls they showed that they will make you pay when taking a shift off. Alexandria and Fergus Falls have to play round 2 in Alexandria yet, Fergus won the first one. If I was a betting man, either Alexandria or Fergus Falls has the best shot, especially with some strong goaltending...

The way LF has played without their stud (Ben Hanoski) the last three games and crushed opponents like Brainerd, Prairie Centre, and last night Sartell the look like they are going to walk right through sections to a fourth strait state turny. I don't teams like Fergus or Alex have a chance!

I haven't seen a section 6A team that can beat the high flying flyers. The only team that has a slim chance is Fergus Falls. The rest of the teams can book their vacations during the state tournament (sorry).

Also this year I am very disappointed that the section semifinals and finals will be on the worst sheet of ice in the area (Willmar)

That must be because Apollo is now in your section and that would give them home ice?

That will affect the gate $$$$ for sure. :(
Why not SCSU's ice? :?

The National Hockey Center sounds great but I was thinking more like the Brainerd Civic Center or the Sports Arena East in Sauk Rapids.
