I thaught that the Hunters played a decent game 5-5 but all the peneltys hurt them. I also thaught that the DM goaltending was terrible at best, the poor kid couldnt control a rebound no matter how hard the shot was. But at least johnson played a good game for the Hunters.

well DM's must be pretty darn good then to have their goalie be "terrible at best" and still win like that

too bad the hunters are always in the box
that is why they will not go to state
until the coach can teach his players not to play stupid, they will always be the bridesmaid

idk if DM's goalie was that terrible... granted 4 goals on 14 shots isnt very good... a few were rebounds which holds the D men responsible too, though its including one batted out of the air by johnson ... another was 5 on 3 for denfeld which cant be blamed on the goalie either... this makes 2A very interesting!

Yes I agree the penalties absolutely destroyed any chance of Denfeld winning. That and the fact their defensemen made some very dumb choices out there. If they want any chance in the playoffs they need to learn to stop with the slashing and STUPID penalties. Can't win big games in the box.

For those of you that think DM has bad defense - think again. Denfeld spent a fair amount of time in DM's zone and could not get a shot off. Their forwards and D alike get in front of everything and are very aggressive.

DM's PP is amazingly deadly. Their passing is very crisp and they had Denfeld reeling on more than one occasion. Overall it was definitely a learning experience for both teams. If they meet again in the playoffs I would expect completely different game plans for both teams. Hopefully Denfeld's whiteboard will read: STAY OUT OF THE BOX! ](*,)

why is everybody blameing the DM deffense for not clearing the puck off rebounds 3 of the four goals were rebounds that ive seen that goalie control several times, i wasnt saying that he is always terrible, i was just trying to point out that he was very off last night.

If someone gets a hold of the box score, I would like to see it. I think DD scored 3 of the 4 goals on the pp. Last on was a 5-3. Also, I think DM had just as many penalties and this needs to be corrected for them to come out of 2A. DM scored on the pp 2 or 3 times and the rest were 5 on 5. I'm not sure how anyone could have liked the 5 on 5 play by DD. Maybe half their shots on goal came from 5 on 5 play. Even when DD was given a 5 minute major; DM wasted 2 of the minutes by getting a penalty. DM goalie did not play his best. I give JJ credit for blading out a puck that the DM goalie had or should have had and putting it away. Quick whistles and unseen pucks seemed to benefit the DD more than DM. Second JJ goal was on 5-3 and put in from mid air. It was just below the crossbar and was legal. I'm pretty sure the Stafne goal was on pp. I thought it was a rebound that came out to a DM defense and he slightly fanned on it. Stafne was closest and had a point blank shot. Maybe I'm getting too old, but this is what I saw.

does any one have exact penalty totals?

People have been saying Denfeld took too many, I'd like to see how many they really took...as well as Marshall.

Did the refs call any 10 minute misconducts on either starting goalie? That might have made a difference in this game.

Oh yeah, didn't that happen in December? I thought I heard about that. :?

Well, since the game was at Marshall and not Denfeld, it's doubtful that either starting goalie got flagged with a misconduct.

Denfeld Vs Marshall

Perhaps the SC goalie should have kept his mouth shut. As far as the game lastnight. Your right Denfeld needs to stay out of the box. But Marshall took quite a bit themselves and a few that the refs didnt call. But then again the game was at Marshall. But Thats the way it goes ! I think both teams need to learn not to take dumb penaltys. If they want to go far in the playoffs. Hope to see a rematch in the playoffs. And I think SCC will also be heard from in the playoffs.

all this goalie penalty talk is so stupid. I happened a million years ago. If anyone swears at the ref they'll get a penalty 99.99% of the time, why would a goalie be any different? Say something stupid and pay the price, that's just how it goes.
