Hey Bob, I was told that one of the Crookston coaches told one of your Rapids coaches that Roseau's forwards are better that Stillwaters. How are Roseau's forwards?

I heard the same thing. Must be a hot topic. Roseau has 3-4 pretty good forwards, but I have't seen stillwater play...

I thought hard for Crookston to judge when Stillwaters best forward was out when they played them.

Havel struggling this afternoon or is Roseau causing some breakdowns? 13 shots 3 goals...not typical

Great weekend in terms of getting wins, but if they play like they did against Roseau, they might struggle in some of their up-coming games.

They have played maybe one other game that poorly all year. I highly doubt that it will be something that continues. Also, give Roseau some credit. They are a very good hockey team. But, I do agree that the Lightning cannot be turning pucks over in the slot to girls like Julia Gilbert and Sadie Lunduist next week. However, I have much faith in the GRG defense and I don't think we will see that this week very much, if at all.

Agree. Talking with some of the girls after the game, they know they played like crap. Talking to another observer, he said there are some flaws in their play that were definitely exposed by a fast-paced team like Roseau, notably their lack of pressure on the penalty kill, and he observed that most of the forwards are setting their feet when they enter the offensive zone. And if those defenders don't stay on the blue line when the puck is in the offensive zone, I'm going to go NUTS!

I realize this sounds critical, but I just know that the Lightning can play a lot better that what they showed Saturday. I'm rootin' for them to contend for the state championship, and I know that they can. I hope to see some great things out of them in the next few games, and come play-off time.

The D are taught not to pinch on most occasions...and I really like that Horgen flees the blueline when the other team gets the puck on a Lightning PP. She saves a lot of ice when she knocks it down in the neutral zone.
