im guessing no one gives east a chance because of the 9-1 game last time...both teams just recently played albert lea though...albert lea beat them both...7-0 over east and 5-1 over west...not much of a difference there...maybe east has been doing better since the first game?

Cross-town rivals....one of them really struggling after going to state last year. The other supposed to win just 'by showing up'. I smell a tighter game than before, but I still give West the edge.
My guess is that it will be something like 5-2 or 6-3 for West this time around.

Don't expect this to be a clean game, East will give West at least one solid period of hockey. I see it 4-1 West

can anyone give updates on AL game tonight
AL vs. Owatonna

by grafmaster
AL - 8
Owatonna - 2
AL came out strong scoring the first two goals in the first, correct me if owatonna scored in the first.
2nd - Owatonna came out and scored a goal, answered by albert lea, then again by owatonna making it 3-2
By this point AL was down Arendt and Schumaker due to large cuts needing stiches.
3rd - Woodside got a check from behind misconduct, 3 players down. AL ends up puttin 5 in the net for running time..

What were all the cuts from? This might be the lowest East seeding ever!

Anyone have the Waseca vs. Fairmont score?
Waseca-Fairmont

Waseca 6, Fairmont 1
Freshman goalie Tom Eaton stoped 23 of 24 shots for his first varsity win. Defenseman Travis Chadderdon scored two first-period goals. Nice win for Waseca after a horrible outing against Austin on Saturday.

Here's what's up tonight in Section 1A
Waseca is at Holy Family in Waconia.
Austin at Faribault (Big 9)
Albert Lea at Mayo (Big 9)
Mankato East at Marshall
Holy Family-Waseca

Holy Family 8, Waseca 3
Holy Family led 4-2 after two but picked it up in the third. Holy Family goalie gives up 3 on only 15-18 shots. Not particularly sharp. Holy Family had about 40-42 shots.
Marshall/East

Albert Lea 4
Mayo 2
Sets up an intersesting AL/Century game Tuesday night. Albert Lea has been playig solid hockey lately and have been exceptional defensively. Century is a bit weak from the blue line on back and if AL can score 4 they'll have a good shot at giving Century a loss.

Sounds like Marshall bounced back well from a lousy 2-1 win over Windom Monday night.

Also to add to the AL vs. Mayo game...
Albert Lea's entire second line was out of the game.
Bowman was sick
Arendt had one of the cuts
Hegwood got hit from behind and got a concussion
The Younger kids stepped up and played an outstanding game

Who scored for AL? Without their 2nd line, that is pretty impressive.

Jet,
Good for Marshall kicking the crap out of a terrible team! Really a good bounce back from 2-1 over another crappy team in Windom.

I wasn't trying to say anything like that, I just meant if they only beat Windom 2-1 something was wrong. Last nights game just sounded like a different story.
