Gina did have a great game. They all played very well and we were all so proud of them. I have noticed throughout the year that the points aren't updated on all the websites for all teams. I have noticed that Irondale's point totals on the coaches website are incorrect. From what I see the only place that they are updated is on the Star Tribune website. I am not sure if this is true for all teams. I know that the St. Paul paper is not reflecting Irondale's points either. It is too bad that there isn't one central location for reporting points because I am sure it is a lot of work for the coaches to report to many sites. . . just my opinion. The girls should get credit for their hard work. Does anyone have any suggestions?quickfeet wrote:I checked the Star Tribune- No box scores for that game. The Coaches Association was just entered today. Looks like Gina McDonald had a heck of a game. She had a hat trick and 2 assists.
This has been discussed in other threads. All I can say is what you've already noted, that the site linked by the Star Tribune has the most accurate stats. I've spoken to the person who is responsible for updating our team's stats and this is what he has said too. Unfortunately not all coaches see to it that their team's stats are uploaded to the MGHCA site on a consistent basis. There's even a few teams that don't participate at all, St. Louis Park being one of them.puckster wrote:I have noticed throughout the year that the points aren't updated on all the websites for all teams. The Star Tribune has its problems too. The Star Tribune reports stats from the game score sheets. As we all know, what is reported in the score sheets isn't always correct. For example, our coach reports corrections on the MGHCA site so the MGHCA site has the correct stats for our team. The Star Tribune stats are incorrect. I know that it isn't true for all teams so to sum it all up there is no one good place to find stats. You need to do a lot of digging to find the right statistics.MNHockeyFan wrote:This has been discussed in other threads. So if you are looking for accuracy I would use the Star Tribune ( http://www.minnesotasportsonline.com/sp ... &sport=110 ). The one problem this site has is that the stats for many of the outstate teams are missing or are incomplete. Maybe some day...
Edge, shouldn't the coach have the score sheets changed so they are made correct BEFORE they are reported to the various outlets like the Star Tribune? If she doesn't, this pretty much guarantees there will be inconsistencies between the different sources.OntheEdge wrote:The Star Tribune has its problems too. i heard that the Tartan only had one goalie that night and she had to play both games. is that true?joehockey wrote:Hill Murray 6 Tartan 2
Could be and totally legit by MSHSL rules if the other G was ill/injured the day of the JV & V games...thshockey wrote:i heard that the Tartan only had one goalie that night and she had to play both games. is that true?joehockey wrote:Hill Murray 6 Tartan 2
In an ideal world yes the coach should have the scoresheets corrected before they are reported, however, it isn't always that easy. The coach isn't watching the game for points and it isn't always obvious. I know our coach generally changes only the obvious errors during the game. Many times, for example, 2nd assists aren't noticed or are corrected after the coach has reviewed the game tape a few days after the game.MNHockeyFan wrote:Edge, shouldn't the coach have the score sheets changed so they are made correct BEFORE they are reported to the various outlets like the Star Tribune?
