I have seen a few of the WBBL games and they have 2 kids that can shoot and they are both defense, both have cannon slap shots, only one of them is consistently accurate though, and only one can take a good quick wrist shot (harder than most of the kids slap shots). none of the forwards can shoot and that is where they appear to struggle, from what I have seen. WBBL has 3 solid lines and a heck of a forecheck, WBBO has #4 #15 the 1/2 is #9 he is looking better every game, so he could go up with the other 2, other than that, it goes down hill from there. WBBL could have alot of play makers if they decide to make plays, and they appear to be capable, there passing game is awesome (when they use it). They need to use all of there resources especially there "D" The games I saw they don't take advantage of there D in offensive zone. The other thing I noticed was in the rematch was on the power play the only time they use there D is when they panic. I think that if this team learns to use the entire team they will be very dangerous and there pretty darn good now.StoppatchFairplayHelmets0 wrote:If you can't think of one kid who can shoot then you must be 0 kids deep. The problem is even though WBBL totally dominated both games, they have a hard time putting the puck in the net. I can't think of 1 kid up front that can shoot, hard or accurate, 90 % of there shots are were in the belly of the goalie.
WBBL is by far a deeper team - If WBO loses 1 of there 2 best players they will have a hard time winning anything.
Listen, wb black is not any deeper than orange. What black does is control the puck a lot better than orange and black is one of the best passing teams I have seen all year.
Both teams are fun to watch, have good kids and will play again in districts.
But, I'll take the 2 1/2 play-makers any day.
I'm very curious who the 1/2 player is though?

The Trojans will take it.
And I can't believe that Edina White kept their FP.
Believe me, I have my hopes up for a Runner-Up finish this weekend! Don't over look teams like the Cougars, Greyhounds and Bears (x2), oh my!D6Rocks wrote:I hate to say it but EP Black's roll will end up north.

WBBL out played and out shot the WBO almost 3 to 1 in both games from what I understand, the difference was the play makers, WBO has a couple of goal scorers there is no question, and 1 kid scored all 5 goals in there first game against WBBL, WBBL has got to learn to put the puck in the net, if that does come around watch out, they will be dangerous!!!!! they are scary fast with a good breakout and forecheck, solid defense and both goalies are really good. They simply can't score.StoppatchFairplayHelmets0 wrote:Bearhockey13 wrote:I have seen a few of the WBBL games and they have 2 kids that can shoot and they are both defense, both have cannon slap shots, only one of them is consistently accurate though, and only one can take a good quick wrist shot (harder than most of the kids slap shots). none of the forwards can shoot and that is where they appear to struggle, from what I have seen. What you are describing is Bantam B level hockey. It has its ups and downs on every team. Yours, ours and the rest of the league have all of those caracteristics.
As far as depth goes, how did Orange beat Black in first game and then tie in the second game? If Orange lacked depth it wouldn't be that close.
District 2 mandates that two teams playing at same level must be created equally. They did and they are!
Goodluck in Moorhead...
It takes alot of guts to admit what your saying, good for you. The b-1 levels are for developing kids for the next level and you hit it right on the head.philip18 wrote:I wish District 3 also had the same equal B team rule. I am from Wayzata and I also don't like the B1-1 vs B1-2 split. My son and his teammates while winning a lot and having great coaching would be better served (an have more fun) if the games they played were closer on a more consistent basis. It would also help the goalies develop. Seeing 10 shots a game does them no good. The B1-2 teams are competitive because this age group has a lot of very solid players. (numbers help but this is a little above normal)
Some people (associations) like to be the Yankees! I hate the Yankees and I understand why many don't like Wayzata and how we organize some things. It is a generally a great association to be a part of and all 3 of my kids have had a great time and benefited overall.
whew! for a moment I read you were doing 94 on 70 - the speed didn't concern me but I was sure concerned you would be surprised when you got to St Louis or Indy instead of Fargo.EagleGuy91 wrote:On the road again. Just can't wait to get on the road again.
Doin 70 on 94. God Bless Cellular internet!
Callin all smokies, be on the look out for a rolling banana full of tiny Black Eagles! We got us a convoy!! (My sympathies to all the players on this board that have no idea what that's from!)
ninety5 - Let's go already!! (And FYI, we don't corrupt rookie coaches, we learn from them.)
Bluebleeder - Call Tommy Two Cheeks, pass the toque and SEND BAIL MONEY!! I'm not sure North Dakota has an extradition treaty with Minnesota.
Good luck to all those in Spudville this weekend and to those staying behind to play your own little reindeer games.
