Whichever one doesn't include the word "soccer".

That rules out Queen's English.

Unfortunately, it also rules out "Wayzata" English.

Eastside it is.

I have to admit I am a little excited about this move.
This team could go from worst pass defense in the league-
to one of the best defenses in the the NFL this year.
Adrian does his thing, and TJack pretends he is Brad Johnson-
Go Viks! :)

goldy, what is the alternative?

What should they do? Hope something falls to them 17th in the draft?

They still have cap room.

I am not in love with Tjack but there are a whole lot of QBs out there
playing every day that aren't that good either.

The best QBs dont always win their team the Super bowl.

The Vikings have had good to very good QBs over the years and what have they won? The Vikings have had great pasing offenses and what have they won with them.

Neither Tom Brady nor Peyton Manning are available right now.

Jared Allen was.

They haven't had any kind of decent pass rushing line in years and it has killed them.

They can stop the run but other teams have passed them silly.

If they can shut down the other team and have a patient offense, they can win with Tjack. Many other teams have done it.

I dont think a lot of people thought Eli Manning would lead his team to the Super Bowl last year. But it was him and not Bret Favre who was there.

Hopefully he stays off the bottle, or at least takes a cab so we don't lose him for a couple games like the Chiefs started their season last year! :?

I think we are just a better QB and a receiver away from having a good shot, but have we shored up the D corners yet? that's also been a problem.
We need someone that doesn't have to give a 10 yard cushion so they don't get beat deep.

A strong pass rush makes average DBs look all pro.

A good Defense usually means good field position.

Longwell should have a big year.

Running game is great.

Tjack is a very good athlete, he will figure it out.(I hope)
Won't have a great passing game, but should be good enough.

I predict division champs. :D

There is one other issue that I think may keep them from champioship caliber.

Its name is Brad Childress.

The Vikes draft John David Booty from USC. Interesting pick. He's one of those QBs who tends to look for the quick pass I believe, and that's what the Vikes will need with Peterson in the backfield.

I'd still like to see T-Jack get another run at this now that he has a season under his belt and Booty lighting a fire under him. It's an interesting pick.

I think the Vikings are a little better at QB this season. Goodbye to Bollinger & Holcumb. T-Jack showed he was the QB of the future until back-to-back primetime appearances against the Bears & Redskins. He looked awful in both games. The Defense did their job against the Bears but I said after the game that the Redskins won't be as forgiving if he struggles like that and it turns out that's exactly what happened. Hopefully he has improved and the addition of Berrian will help as long as he doesn't drop every pass like Troy Williamson. Jared Allen claims he is staying sober but that's what Koren Robinson said too. If he does and he lives up to the hype, the Vikings could very easily win the division this season. If they don't make the playoffs, I'll consider that a dissapointment.

I am so glad the Vikings drafted Booty.

After the first INT that Tjack throws ,the fans will be calling for Booty to go in. It'll be great.

Yup, when Moon , Salisbury , or McMahon werent doin too good they used to call for Gino Torreta.

Torreta was drafted about the same round and the fans just couldnt wait to have him in the game. Of course, it never happened for Gino in the NFL, here nor anywhere else but the fans didnt care.

It wont take long before the Booooo...ty calls come out.

I've been listening to NFL Radio this morning (it would be MLB, but Sirius doesn't have that contract  ), and it's all talk about Brett Favre's possible return.

The discussion is whether or not the Packers would even want him back at this point, or if they just want to move on. The general feeling seems to be that if he wants to return, the Packers probably wouldn't let him go, even if they want to. But if they did, Peter King (of Sports Illustrated and Inside the NFL) seems to think that he'd end up one other place...

Minnesota.

He's got it narrowed down to a team that's going to win with or without a good QB, but could still use one, and that T-Jack would get to learn from an established, winning veteran - something he really hasn't had before.

There's no way that Favre would ever do that, is there? That's just crazy. If the Packers waive him for whatever reason, I have no doubt that the Vikes would try to get their hooks in him, but he just wouldn't make that choice... right?!

On the old neighbor this morning Brett was quoted as saying it's all rumor.. But we've heard that before.

just tell him to stop crying. It works for the first retirement and then first comeback. After that it gets awkward and uncomfortable.

True, I have no doubt that he's not coming back one way or the other, but it is interesting to note that he's not saying "no" like he did a couple of months ago... now it's "just a rumor".
