I think packerboy sums it up fairly well.
.500 clubs are that for the obvious reason - too many ups and downs without any reasonable streak of consistancy in good perfromances by all.

I agree with PB, even a fleshy, sweaty Boof Bonser at the five spot is good, however, if the Twins are deep enough in the staff to not need him, it probably means that what's his name is back and effective.

Silva is gone. I would be surprised if he wasnt traded soon.
He is a free agent at the end of the year and somebody will pay him a ridiculous amount of money in the off season. It wont be the Twins.
So, I think we will have the Boof around for awhile.

Well, Bonser has given an amazing start, it's almost like we're back at the beginning of the season. With a late 8th inning 4 runs we can hopefully put another mark in the win column.

Make that 28-7.
Go Twins.
They are gonna make it as painful as possible for us.

Now, if only we could win our next 6 to be on an 8 game winning streak when starting 4 games against KC at home, that would be a nice kick in the pants.

KC pulled out a great 1 run win just when we needed it. If only they could sweep the Indians...

They have been here before a few times this year.
On the verge of getting right in the thick of things.
Each and every time they have slid back. Usually because the offense disappears.
They then crawl out of the hole they dug themselves into to get to this point.
The short version: They have been spinning their wheels all season.
This is their last chance to make Sept meaningful.
There will be no recovery if they flop during the next 10 games.
This is it. Gut check time. Backs to the wall. Now or never.
Its getting too late to be sayin its still early.
Lets go.
PS At this time last year they were 5.5 games out of first.

Last year everyone also had better records. It's odd to see that the team with the best record (Boston) couldn't win out and be close to the best record ever. Last year at this time we were the same number of games out, with probably 10 or 15 more wins. I guess only time will tell what happens. It doesn't say too much when you get going against the Orioles, but a 4 game sweep against anyone is a 4 game sweep and one of our young pitchers got a win against Bedard. In fact, all 5 of our pitchers got wins this time through the rotation.
Most of the games for the team in our division are against teams in the division. If KC got hot, with some help, they could even go. Whoever plays the best from here on out will take the AL Central.

Time for a quick post.
With the sweep of the Orioles the Twins continue to tease us with the possibility that they could make the playoffs. Baker pitched a fine game yesterday, he seems to have made the transition into a major league pitcher. For you guys not happy with Boof this should give you some hope. Boof has the pitches and stuff to be a major league pitcher, it's really a matter of conditioning and understanding the mental part of the game both of which will take time.
Hunter and his agent quickly denied reports that he had turned down a deal with the Twins, I think I heard it was $14 million a year for 4 years. I'm inclined to believe the reports, which would indicate that the Twins are willing to sign Hunter but that they won't get him at a discount. It would also suggest that any comments that Hunter has made about wanting to stay here, etc., are hogwash, it's about the money. And it's unlikely the Twins will come up with the money to keep Hunter even though they probably should.
The Twins need to win this series against Cleveland. Pitch the boofin' ball, catch the boofin' ball, HIT the boofin' ball!!

56 mill over 4 years is a good offer for Hunter.
Maybe it isnt what Wells or Damon make but its still a good offer.
The subliminal messages seem to be working but we might need to change the message to "Hunter sign".

With twenty-five men they started the year,
For now it’s the end and some are not here.
The first one to go was a guy called Pontoon,
With Baker on deck we knew he’d be gone soon.
Then Jesse felt pain after signing his new deal,
But the bullpen’s been fine as Guerrier is for real.
Ortiz was good, but then he was not,
Then shipped off to Denver to win a starting spot.
At thirty-seven he was done when he came,
Now he’s off to the desert and Cirillo was his name.
The last move came at the end of July,
Castillo was gone as it hardly made me cry.
So who are these Twins you sit back a say,
The same team as last year… done Carl’s way.

Another comment with no explanation. Explain how it's stupid. It's correct. We were 5.5 games behind and had won 10-15 more games than we have this year. Hence, everyone in the top of the ranks of MLB had better records.

Make that 25-6.
Go Twins.
Let's try and stay outta "3" for the rest of the season.
That about sums up the season.
But hey, tommorrow's a new day.
Not a whole lotta wiggle room left.

The Twins were all square and look ready to .....go back there.
Come on boys. What a weak effort.
Lets go.
How can Hafner be hitting only .257? He must hit .180 vs the rest of the league cuz he just owns our pitchers. Figure out how to pitch to him.

Good call packer.
Hafner with a 2 run shot in the 1st.
C'mon Boof.

Well, on the plus side, Hafner is on my fantasy seem... I think that's something we can all get excited about! Right?!
