Well, it doesn't have quite the thrill of "East ends Cloquet's season today", but in a pinch, it'll do.

The Lake again proved it is the dominant force in nearly every athletic endeavor as both Lakeville schools knocked off the top 2 seeds in in 1AAAAA handily, as a Big Nine guy that't tough to say but an honest opinion. North's hockey guy , Schmitz and South's football guy, Webster take a lot of heat but they both have success at the section level that's hard to rival; outside a very small handfull of programs state wide.
FWIW the strib website has a real nice article/slideshow on Edison football, I encourage anyone with a true interest in high school athletics to watch it, it's well worth the time.
Other upsets outsicd 1AAAAA, #3Hopkins over #2Minnetonka, #1Eden Prairie won by 3 over #4Edina and Cloquet over Central. Watch out for Plainview in AAA.thry maybe a top tram in the state any class.

Govies are toast courtesy of the Zephyrs of Mahtomedi. Another fallen victim to the 2 win team. How embarrassing.

That's because they haven't crossed the Trojans yet. EP has been tested a few times this year, and it happened again last night... They're going to tumble to somebody soon. Of course, a lot of us said that before the title game last season and they embarrassed Cretin. Coach Grant is a beast during the playoffs.
I'm standing by my claim that nobody will touch Wayzata. Anders Lee and the Hornets gave them a run, but that was the toughest shot they're going to take this season. Nobody's come close to them other than that game.
Now that I've jinxed them, I'll try and get somebody to come over and hand out candy this Friday night so I can go watch them lose to Champlin Park.

Go CDH Raiders. Beat the Woodbury Royals.
It seems like every time there is a big game in any sport, its CDH vs Woodbury.
The Catholic Factor will again be big tonight.
CDH by 10.

Okay, here is the Ultimate Thrill...
..East ends Cloquet's season tonight.
Dang, that looks good. I'd make it my sig line if I wasn't convinced it'd cause Sappi Nation to come unglued.

And then they'd come back with some David Brown reference. And then I'd come back with 3>0 and some reference to their history in the state hockey championship game.
East moves on to face Orono next Saturday.
