Not so much tonight.Wreckincrew wrote:
Maybe Luverne just has a hard time playing against Eagles?
Buy Hilary a sucker and a Christmas tree for your fake ornaments!HILARY2016 wrote:really needed to have the kid on pk in the 3rd to notch another shorty?
I am starting to agree many Bantam B metro teams could compete here
You make it out last night?InigoMontoya wrote:I'm also not sure why a close win against New Ulm makes them a disappointment. That is the Eagles' only loss to date - I was contemplating a drive on Jan 8 for a little hockey and some schnitzengruben.
If Nelson keeps putting up the numbers like he has, I think 100 goals in a little over 2 years, do you think he passes up his linemate by the end of his HS days?CherryPicker99 wrote:Good luck to Chaz Smedsrud tonight. He has a chance to take 3rd Place on the all time points list. Spehar is currently 3rd with 306. Nice accomplishment for Chaz.
Definitely. He could make a run at Hanowski's 405.lamplighter98 wrote:If Nelson keeps putting up the numbers like he has, I think 100 goals in a little over 2 years, do you think he passes up his linemate by the end of his HS days?CherryPicker99 wrote:Good luck to Chaz Smedsrud tonight. Would it be asterisk like the steroid era for baseball? Being majority of the points come from 3A? Little Falls played in a much tougher conference.notTONIGHT wrote:Definitely. I can't believe that the people from Luverne ever gave you a penny! You're a fraud!HILARY2016 wrote:Would it be asterisk like the steroid era for baseball? Being majority of the points come from 3A? Whoa, you need to apologize, or kiss this board goodbye.pats12 wrote:You have no clue about this kid, team or their competition. 7A is a joke besides Hermantown so why don't you keep your jealousy to yourself. You and trout should check into a mental institution so each have a friend to talk to. You must really be a loser if you goal in life is to bash on 15 year old kids. Pitiful!greenway1969 wrote:This is a good example of records not having a lot of meaning. Most of the competition Luverne plays is Bantam A or below. This is not a knock against the kid just an illustration of a fairly meaningless record.
Hilarious because when Hanowski was going for the record people were bemoaning Little Falls weak schedule. Hell people were saying that John Pohl played class A back when he was making his run at Spehars record. I dont think anyone is saying these kids would be putting up these kinds of points if they played a schedule like Edina or BSM. What is a talented kid supposed to do when he's stuck playing weak competition?HILARY2016 wrote:Would it be asterisk like the steroid era for baseball? Being majority of the points come from 3A? Jonny I do get what you're saying. But if someone put up 600 they would say 3A weak schedule etc. So let's just call it the trout affect for the cardinals poor schedule. We will just play all home games halfway next year so we can get the tough schedule. (Neutral sites)Bring back the GM as soon as possible!hawkenjonny wrote:Again, so defensive. 300 is huge for sure, but competition does play a part, which if 'you get it' you would understand. The kid is a really nice player, and hats off to him. Not his fault the section is weak, but there would be quite a few players with those numbers if they played there. Sorry if you disagree, or don't get it. Guess I got defensive when they compare it to Spehar or some others.

No probably more like half. 300= 150 career pts for a tough AA schedule I would say.Whiner33 wrote:I suppose 300 + points is equivalent to 30 in these metro areas and 100 goals is equivalent to 10 goals because these metro kids work so much harder for their points. Got it now. Noted
Did I say he played a tough HS schedule? I know you have a hard time usually goldy but open your eyes. Luverne kid has zero right being mentioned with someone like Pohl who proved his HS career was no fluke becoming one of top 10 scorers is gopher history and playing in the show.goldy313 wrote:Ummmm, Johnny Pohl played at a class A school in a weak class A conference and in the weakest Class A section. He put up a lot of points against some very bad teams. By no means was he a sure thing when he went to Minnesota. There were people complaining about him when he was in high school too, it worked out for him I think.
Have seen both he and the Nelson kid play Elite and he is a good player. Nice hands and good net awareness. If I were a coach from Luverne I would be furious that you play some of these teams twice. Ridiculous. Hope to see the cards in March. And hopefully my underachieving THawks as well.Whiner33 wrote:Jonny I do get what you're saying.
