Anoka 4

Anoka squanders a great performance in goal by Spencer Olson and 4 goals from it's first line (including a hattie by Blake Neumann) due to poor defensive zone coverage and poor positional play on the Olympic ice sheet. ER defencemen do a great job handling the puck, holding the point, rotating the puck D to D while the ER forwards are led by #15 (Ben Johnson?) an explosive skater with good size.

Anoka lacks depth and it showed in playing both Burnsville (up in Grand Rapids) and ER tough, but coming up short in both games.
Mr Neumann,
Can you give us the play by play on Blake's "hattie". Also, what round he's projected to be drafted in after the "hattie"

Anoka Classic Championship

Anoka pulls off a big upset to claim the title at their home tournament. Rosemont has an excellent team but I was shocked to see how poorly they reacted to the loss... They had kids taking slapshot swings at Anoka players helmets on the ice during the celebration and many of them were upset in the lobby still after the game. That team has the tools to be great bt they must learn how to lose as well.

Congrats on a great championship game to both teams!

Usually a reflection of a poorly behaved coach.

Usually the comment of a complete tool. Were you there? Do you know the Rosemount coach(es)?

My kid lost to stillwater in the third place game right before. Did't see the whole champ, but, Rose coach @ least the one I know is a great guy. Type of coach u would want your kid to have.

Wow farmington must be tough. I watched the B's play Rosemount and both of those teams would have beat our[my kids] A pee-wee team.

Farmington is okay... They're just lucky they don't have to play in a tougher district like D5.

"okay"? I'd resopond with a dokay... Farmington is outstanding. 4 big strong D, 3 great F lines.

Farmington does have 4 decent D players and a good goalie, beyond that they are just 6 more forwards. They keep the scoring the low but don't blow teams out. If you could combine Edina's forwards with Farmington's D and goalie, that would be a nice team.

Mark my words, Farmington will find themselves on the short-side of the scoring when other teams realize to adjust and their play to put more physical players at D and look for 3-4 opportunities a game.

But right now they are #1 or #2. Credit where credit is due. Although D5 would eat them up.... :D

Farmington is the real deal. It's true the defense is excellent. #3 might be the best player at this level. They are fast and move the puck well. Their 3rd line might be the weakest 3rd line of the top 10, not much of a weakness. If their bottom 4 forwards develop, this team will be playing on the last weekend of the season for the championship.

I'm guessing tongue must be planted firmly in cheek given the scores in that district and seeing as how your team lost 4-0 to them. Imagine if they opened up there offense what they would have done to your team :)

Don't go there ... don't say it. too late, now there will be a thread started.

P.S. very good player, extremely hard worker but NOT the BEST at this level.
