I agree with Elliott assessment on 7AA! Only difference is I see the percentages as Andover 60, DE 35 & CEC 5
Those could be a better pct.
I was just jabbing K & L a bit.
10 of final 13 games in Cloquet/Twin Ports. I want Andover in the semi-final so much!!!!!!!!
Well then you are cheering for Elk River to get the 3 spot and hoping CEC does not get surprised by Flake or GRapids in the quarter game.

Not exactly sure if the QRF calculus now that DE has a loss to Andover puts them completely behind the 8 ball for getting the 1 seed (Andover also beat CP & DE Lost to CP) both teams play Tonka, so for DE to have any chance at the 1st seed (still would be doubtful thou) they clearly need to beat Tonka Saturday

Or maybe it doesn’t even matter to the QRF calc?

Not being an expert on QRF but,
Deast might lose 5 or 6 games still.
(CEC, Brainerd, Stillwater, Tonka, EP, Moorhead, Maple Grove, Eagan Lakeville S)
Andover might lose 4.
(Blake, MG(2), Tonka, Blaine, WBL)
Deast would have to keep the losses to 3 to get #1.
If Andover loses only 2 they pretty much have it.

I’ll take my chances. I trust the purple will take care of business prior to semi-final. I want Andover. I want Andover. I want Andover.

Odds are it will be in the semis if it is going to happen.

Current QRF standing in the state. 7AA looks like a dumpster fire outside of Duluth East and Andover. Is this the norm for 7AA next year and the next several. I sure hope not. It does sound as though Grand Rapids will be back next year. Elk River sounds like the current Mites have talent.

You got that right Knivsey!
With CEC (7AA) and Greenway (7A) struggling its been a lack luster hockey season so far.
Certainly not what I was expecting leading into the season.
Hopefully the CEC boys can get it going in 2019.

I'm hearing the same. Rumor mill says that the Elks will be practically unbeatable in about 10 years!

Slow down a little. I heard three of the Elk Mite A's have already committed to Junior teams.

Forest Lake's Dalton Saltness with 6 goals tonight after 6 points his last game against Grand Rapids...
He might be the 2nd best talent in the section but tough situation to get noticed... eyes should be on him.!

Watched Andover v Elky last night. Andover is super fast and skilled as advertised. Elks were the better team in the 2nd period after changing lines and getting their D more involved in the offense. Ultimately ER was done in by a 1st period where they let themselves be overwhelmed by Andover’s speed. You can’t spot a team that good a 3-0 lead. I still like GR and CEC to be the teams to play Andover and East in the semifinals. Cloquet appears to be trending up and Rapids appears to be making progress after being decimated by the flu during the Edina classic being competitive with Moorhead and WBL right to the last couple minutes.

I’m going to agree with DJ. The purple team and orange team will have to get by some stubborn, hard working, 7AA teams in the Quarter Finals. Andover and Duluth East are clearly better, but the Jacks and the birds will not give wins away in the Semi Finals. It will be a semi finals of a couple canines, a bird, and a Lumberjack.
The last game of the season between the jacks and birds in Rapids will be huge for the QRF. The winner will probably get the higher seed for the QFinals. I am, however, going to say that the Elks and the Forest could upset any of these teams, just unlikely.

Agreed. I’m scared

I caught the 3rd period of Elk River-Andover on the live stream. Much as we've seen with Minnetonka at times this season, it seemed like Andover's depth just kept coming in waves as the period went along. The Elks held up for a while, but the Huskies wore them down and popped in a few. The Elks are a decent team that relies on a few good players to carry the load, and if they muck things up beyond that and get good goaltending, they're at least an upset-capable team.
Am mildly surprised the box score shows no consequences for the tiff in front of the Elk River bench with a few seconds left in the game. Andover's Luke Kron went off hurt midway through the 3rd, which would be a loss if it's anything long-term. Good to see Schoen back in the lineup; also didn't hear Dainty's name called and he didn't appear to be on the top line, though he has an assist in the box score in the 1st period so clearly he was out there at some point. Any intel there?

I didn’t keep track of their lines vs MG, but GR rolled 4 lines the entire game vs WBL and nearly pulled off the upset. Nuch was pleased with the hard work they put in for 51 minutes. The score vs MG is what I was expecting. MG has high end talent and it’s tough to keep pace when you don’t have those elite scorers that can snipe a shot from 30+ feet into a coffee cup size hole. Rapids has a very good young core of sophomores and looking at their bantam team Rapids should expect to be a top 2 seed in 7AA next season and the following 2-3 years. As long as they keep putting in the work and play as a team they can potentially be one of those teams that can give a top seed a scare in the semi’s. Keep the game close late and get the puck on Peart’s stick and look out.
Btw, Karl who is this kid for East that gets a hat trick in his first game? Gosh it’s like East mid-season gets a Karill Kaprizov out of no where. Sounds like mad scientist Randolph doing his thing again.

Ziemski's not an unknown quantity. He was plenty productive as a youth player and had a big summer, plus he's a finisher, which is something East needed. If he keeps up the work rate, I'm guessing he's in the lineup for good. Randolph's been maybe a little slower than usual to bring along the sophomores, but this group did finish 2nd to Maple Grove at State as PeeWees...while that was a mild surprise run, there is talent there.

Shocked how Tonka made mince meat of East size. Took them completely off their game. I mean East is huge and not playing like it.

Tonka simply the quicker, more skilled, better passing team & very tenacious. This game was 3-1 Tonka, Donovan missed a breakaway, and you knew DE was wobbling & ready to fall at that point. When Tonka made it 4-1 it was essentially over. Shots were not that far off 33-25 but Tonka controlled the play pretty decisively. Hopefully the injury Paine suffered early in the game is NOT serious, otherwise DE is in a boat load of trouble going forward IMO

Elks on a 4 game skid.
East schooled by Minnetonka.
Rapids got taken to the wood shed by Holy Family 6 - 0 outshot 18 to 38.
They are 4 and 11 and on pace to match last seasons "success" .
Hermantown East Cloquet up next.
Come on people, outside of 23 and the goalies its like watching a glorified junior gold team hit the ice.
Incoming bantams would have to carry the load in 2020.
Kniven is right dumpster fire of a section with a full blown Ferguson style riot.
