Actually, I'd say that Warroad was always there and were a part of the growing up and further improvement of Minnesota hockey..............

Thats great he set up a game winning goal, pretty exciting, I did that in 2000 againts DL in the section semi finals in overtime, pretty good hockey memory. Anyways I was hoping to win the 50-50 drawing here in warroad for my birthday, but it didnt happen, winner took home $978. Going fishing tomorow hope it good. P.S. be easy on the girl, refs can frustrate us all at one point, plus it was her first post, evryone wants to gain instant repect the first post they make, and it usually is a dumb one, lol. And hockeygirl, most of us have been playing hockey since we were 3 also, and then we have been watching and playing and following it for years after highschool, so we know a little also. Someone asked about where dullblades was in the festler dominates forum, maybe my smart a$$ness was to much for him, lol.

Prairie Centre played SCC tough tonight. But don't get too excited, they are still bad.

Little Falls had their way with SCC in a scrimmage earlier this year is what I've heard. Thus, Little Falls is my pick to win this section. Also, Festlers good.

Probably nothing you haven't heard before.

Eveleth 6, Fergus Falls 4
shots, Eveleth 42, Fergus Falls 36.........
Eveleth 2 for 7 on the powerplay........
Fergus came out flat, and were down early, score was 3-0, 3-1, 5-1, 5-2, 6-2........then the final, looks like maybe they came alive in the third, too little too late though..........tomarrow in Coleraine against Greenway High School.......they have a BAD record against some of Minnesota's best teams........Maybe Fergus will cary over the third period of this game into tomarrow and have a better outing........

anyways, typical Fergus team, lose the games they should win............win some they should lose.........consistency although is key and these guys have got to get into it or they will be out of it in a hurry....

FF vs GW

FF 2 GW 2

I'm going to sound unbelievably biased in this thread, but Fergus got ripped off.

End of 1st 0-0
End of 2nd 1-0

Less then 2 min into the 3rd they scored their 2nd and were completely dominating play, and then a no-call on a obvious offsides was completely missed and it led to a breakaway for Greenway and their player put it away. Ok, so what? Still winning by 1. Wrong, Fergus defenseman gets pulled down by the back collar of his jersey (easily should've been a penalty) and a 2 on 0 breakaway for Greenway to tie it up. You'd think it'd stop there, but we're in the iron range fellas it only stops after a minimum of 3 screws in the a$$. Maybe 3 min left in overtime a delayed penalty on Greenway and FF takes advantage of the extra skater from a pulled goalie and put a nice shot on net, cleanly bounces off of the goalies pad and they put it away. Not so fast, I guess way up north if the goalie touches it he has control so the refs wave off the goal and game ends in a tie. Cripes! now i'm pissed off again.

Jees.............I was going to say something about how the refs have little business to call a penalty with less than a minute left in a tied up game like that unless it was really obvious but I guess all you've said is good enough. I was also going to go on about how many dissallowed goals, I thought there was two game winners for Fergus....but, in this case again, the Fergus Otters of 2004-05 have shown their charecter. Just like in the EGF game, it looked like it was down and out, but, nope, this Fergus team just kept on fighting.
Having two goals scored on you in 30 seconds after solidly having the game in your arms isn't bad enough, then the ref calls a penalty on you to start OT, and then it sounds like the two goals to end the game were a work of HOMERS as well, they set you up to fail. But here again, the resiliance of this team is like none I've seen in an Otter team. All this team needs now is a little consistency, that first game on the range won't do it, that second game will probably get the job done and as leaders are emerging, this could be a fun season yet.
Next tuesday in Detroit Lakes, (early February will be the make up game for the Holiday Classic)......
This team has flashes of good, but then they dissapoint when they could turn the corner, turn that corner and ride it to state whenever it happens, no one will know..........................

What happened with the 1-1 tie game between Prairie Center and Wadena on Sat. Wadena should have walked away with this one.

What this I hear about Wadena skating to a tie with Prairie Center 1-1. Wadena do you think you can compete with Little Falls who beat prairie center 10-1. Thats terrible if wadena thinks they can beat LF but we'll see come tuesday but my pick is LF 5-3.

Prediction:
Wadena in a close one, or Little Falls walks away with it. Which is more likely, common sense says Little Falls has the game, however, this is Minnesota Hockey in section 4.............under these circunstances, a down Little Falls team will be beaten by a solid Wadena defense. they will shut down the few standouts LF has and find the answer in the biggest win of the year for these rebuilding Wolverines..............

i wasnt at the praire center game but someone told me praire center only lost by one to st cloud recently, Wadena had close to 35 shots wonder how many st cloud had, something smells like a hot goalie! Wadenas missing a top player for another few games, to bad cause the team was reaching a nice improvement per game pace, Cant believe little falls thinks they can win losing to dl 5 to1 when wadena smoked them, So here we are at the comparing scores idea again, not going to work in section 4a this year. old school i think you have this one pegged as a close win for wadena or runaway margin to falls. A few more games before wadenas wheels are lubed! I know the big crowd will make this one exciting. Thinking 800 people for this one. Might top the fergus game last year.

With out lil Pettit wadena stuggles to score goals. But wadena still has the best goalie in the section statistically. Wadena will match lines against LF and shut down festler line and after that what do the flyers have seriously 2 freshmen and sophmore look out for them<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

I really doubt that LF will just come into wadena and push them around. wadsvill will not go down with out a fight. I think this game will be a close low scoring game and if #13 for wadena can carry the load offencivly wadsvill has a solid chance at the flyers even with out their best forward.

How good would the flyers be with out festler? festler has carred the flyers all season and eventualy his legs will give out .

Two freshmen and a sophomore. Apparently Koonta hasn't seen them play. Wadena's doesn't't have the speed to match up with these three and without a doubt they don't have the line to match Festler, Lickteig and Cotton. LF 7 Wadena 1

no speed? they have probably the best team defensively in the section with fergus. little falls is all offense, i think the game will be a close one.

Just kinda an off note here, but were you at the FF vs WDC game last year? There won't be as many people as that, that was insane. Had to be close to a thousand.

Seriously have you seen the LF second line play Jorgensen has a nose for the net this kid can score. Jared Festler has some of the best hockey sense and is a very strong skater you won't knock this kid off his feet without a big hit. Beau Hanowski is also an exceptional player and a very well rounded player. I strongly doubt that Wadena's first line will match up with LF's. LF's second line is good too.....Wadena doesn't have a chance.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

I guess this question is for the section "i would really like to hear your reply old school cuz you have been around for as long as i have" Who is the favorite in the section right now i am sorry i haven't kept up with this section very well this year and i am falling behind fast and was wondering if you could enlighten me without this having to be a battle i am assuming LF FF and WDC are the top 3 right? how would everyone rank this section from top to bottom and why? who are the dark horses?

Well, coming into the season, the big four were Fergus Falls, Little Falls, Wadena, and Willmar. Willmar is a complete loss, so that leaves three. Now, of these three, the only game between them is Little Falls and Fergus Falls. I wasn't at the game, but Little Falls won 7-2, it sounded like it wasn't Fergus' top game of the year but a loss is a loss. You can compare a few scores, Wadena 4-1 over DL, LF lost to DL,......LF 6-2 over Willmar, FF 6-1 over Willmar.....but this doesn't do entire justice when looking ot who is the best. Typically and this is a very typical season, Fergus Falls has the strongest schedule, not the best record, a very up and down 4-4-3 against some strong teams with an impressive win over Fargo South, but some losses that could've been wins, when they turn that corner, look out.
I guess Little Falls will likely get the #1 seed in the playoffs, unless a couple things happen. Little Falls has probably their best team ever in a couple fast forwards, however have lost some ugly games, as Fergus has, a testiment to who these guys schedule.
Wadena of the three if not for their schedule then for their unimpressive record adn losss of so many players from last year has the most to prove. They lost so many players from the state tourney team of last year that whent undefeated that this year has to be a rebuilding year, you can't really tell where they are because stiff competition is few a far between, but they have had a loss to Kittson and beat Park Rapids in OT. as well as tieing Prarie Centre...............
all in all this is probably the closest section 4a race in the history of section 4a. On any given night these three teams are as close to eachother that any one could beat the other one by 1, 3, 2, or 6 goals......in the end any team could really be #1 with Fergus now having the least likely shot.
As for the rest of the section, I think Benson-Morris, don't laugh, please I am serious, they have some impressive wins for their young programs, Prarie Centre, (Long Prarie and Sauk Centre) is decent, tieign Wadena and playing some close games. I suppose that CIA and pequote lakes will be seller dwellers again .....
1,2,3, Fergus Falls, Little Falls, and Wadena, no order
4,5 Benson or Prarie Centre
6 Willmar
7,8 CIA , Pequote Lakes....................

Well just like I told y'all Little Falls 6 Wadena 0.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> I guess the undisputed section favorite is Little Falls with this win and that 7-2 win over Fergus. This LF team is headed to state. Nobody in this section can keep up with Festler and Licktieg
