WOW! is inver grove that good or lucky. I saw them play in BV Tourney and thought they were ok but to beat Woodbury now after Woodbury won the Bloomington tourney beating BV and OMG. ?

probably neither. woodbury finished as the 8th seed after pool play with a loss to burnsville. they barely beat a mediocre prior lake team and skimmed by burnsville [the #1 seed]. if any team got luck it would be woodbury during the bloomington tourney, not inver grove.

didn't Woodbury play in the BV, OMG & AV the toughest pool?

Yes they played in pool play. Pool play was just to seed the teams. Burnsville beat Woodbury 3-1 in pool play, but Woodbury got another shot in bracket play. Woodbury won 3-2

Is Inver Grove a threat to Woodbury in District 8? or did they just get lucky?

Inver Grove has some players and can beat the top teams if goalie comes to play. Good Coaching Staff. Woodbury can be on again off again. District 8 is wide open this year.

Our team has been scouting various teams that will likely play in the east peewee region (hosted by Cottage Grove). Inver Grove is one team that we all agree has a lot of upside. I have seen them play three times and have been impressed each time.
This will be one heck of a regional tournament: 3 Teams from District 2 (WBL? Roseville? MV? or even Stillwater?), 2 Teams (
only) from District 6 (Edina? EP? Burnsville?) and 3 Teams from District 8 (IGH? Woodbury? Rochester? Lakeville North?. Wow

I heard that Armstrong was actually up in this game 2-0 midway through the 3rd period. Was the turnaround a result of soft goals or just a situation of OMG finally finding the net?

1st goal was players banging at the puck around the net
2nd was a snipe from the top of the circle (the 1st 2 goals came 12 seconds apart)
3rd was a beauty of a dangle
4th was an open netter

Key D6 game.
Is Burnsville on a down turn or is Edina that dominant?

At a peewee A game in late December, I turned to a grandmother of one of the kids playing a game on the ice. I asked her "has her grandson grown since the October tryouts?" She looked at me and thought for a moment and said yes, she thought he had grown about an inch.
Burnsville's team got off to an excellent start, but their kids are developing and their competition is developing. The Blaze are at a crossroads in their season and their top line is not getting the support from their other lines that they enjoyed earlier in the season. But they have great coaching so will the Blaze turn a corner or sag?
They may suffer a little in the next four weeks, but I have no doubt they will be prepared for the D6 playoffs and will most likely have one of the top four seeds and potentially one of the top two for the D6 playoffs.
As to Edina being dominant, I believe the Hornets are at a similiar crossroads in that they will be struggling to get through a tough schedule with four D6 games, the Roseau tourney, and the White Bear Tourney all being played in three weeks. The Hornets will be good if they win one of the tourneys, dominant only if they win out.
So what does that have to do with kids growning "an inch". A peewee team can change from the start of the season to the end of the season more so then at any other age. That is why it is fun to watch. You never know from month to month what teams will win because other levels (bantams, high school, etc) the kids are more consistent physically over a 3-4 month season. Translate the above into are the Edina kids growing? I think so.

Freddy you sound like a poet the way that you write about kids growing and teams developing...

I happened to be at the Edina Burnsville game as well and thought that Burnsville out chanced Edina hitting two pipes in the last couple of minutes and a knob of the goalies stick in the second period. The game did end with an open netter which makes it lood more like a domination by Edina. I would be surprised if any team shows dominance in D6 the top three will be pushed to the end. The team that comes out of this district has definitely earned one of the top spots in the state.
