Eastview, Eagan and Eden Prairie all have great programs, not arguing anything there, just saying in conference standings Rosemount is up.
Wrong. Acording to the scores posted tonight Chaska wins 5-3. The average beat the below average. Think of how bad the conference is if Chaska just beat the 1-2-3 teams. That is my point. Stay with me on this. Oh, Oh, another score in from the Lake: Jefferson 0 Apple Valley 0 in overtime. Wow that is some hockey.

I follow the Lake Conference and it's a down year, but it's not the worst conference in the state. It's is weird seeing Eagan and Rosemount being above E.P., Jefferson, Apple Valley and Burnsville in standings.

You guys are having a tough year as a conference.....DEAL WITH IT!!!!
Hockey is and always will be cyclical that is what makes the armature level great, it is unpredictable. The lake conference will be back in ship shape it is just a matter of time.

Lake conference is not the best this year and i believe is certainly down and not that new teams have just risen to the top. They play tough non-conference schedules for the most part and it's very even and anybody is capable of beating anyone any night this year in conference play. But to say it's the worse conference is not right either. It's still a tough and brutal conference to play in and this year more than ever with so many teams being equal.

The Lake Conference has been living off its reputation for the last 10 years. They have accomplished very little at the state tournament in the last ten years. They have only brought home 3rd place and consolation trophies. Their record at the tournament during this time is 9 - 22.

By no means is the Lake the worst in the state. They are not as strong as they were in recent years but i blame this on the large percent of players going to private schools. I play in the lake and i have seen top players from my team and other anually go to Blake Breck St. Margrets, AHA and other schools. I dont have facts to back this up but the majority of the private schools are in the SW metro and that is where the majority of the lake school exist.

hey greenway1969 other than private schools like aha and cdh that have one recently , no one has accomplished alot in state and thats because private schools like u and all the others take the lake's and all the other public schools best players.

Schools dont "take" players. The best players leave to private schools because the competition and development is better.

you can still get just as much recognition in a public school than in a private school. It depends on how you play, Flatontheice you have no idea what your talking about when you say the lake is the worst in the state. Name one other confrence where night in and night out your playing quality teams like Chaska, Eastview, EP, Jefferson?? The lake may be down THIS year but teams are young, Rosemount's roster has 15 of 17 players that are underclassmen. Eastview is another team with many underclassmen somewhere around 13 or 14 i believe? That was a bold statement saying its the worst in the state.

Very well said......been on the run alot this year, but meant to get back to this topic.

1) It's obvious this poster has never coached or been a ref.

2) Many (ALOT) of teams in the state would not fair well playing against a Lake Conference team.

3) They are down, but not out in the next few years - it's easy to put them down because they have many times been a "powerhouse?"

Talk to you next year :D

The Lake has been living off it's past for a few years now. The Conference is too big and they don't get enough games outside of the league to get a fair comparison. Page2stat has Lake teams at 12, 13, 14, 15, 23, 27, and 29. That's 7 teams in the top 30 and as a conference they're a whopping .325 against non Lake teams. The 5 AA teams in the Big Nine have a .368 non conference winning % against AA teams. (before you bring up nc schedule- Big Nine teams have loses to Roseville (2), Edina, Duluth East, and wins over top 30 teams like Stillwater, Rosemount, and Hastings) The non conference schedules are similar if not favoring the Big Nine teams a shade.
