Hey Real Deal, how are the bengals struggling? Also, I don't see how suddenly Anoka is now more talented than Blaine. No one from Anoka compares to Lynch and Beaudette and that's just a fact. The only problem with this team is they tend to play down to their competition. However, they know this is a big game and they should come out strong.

I'm with Real Deal on this one, Blaines goaltending doesn't inpress me at all, plus. O'Neill...Scott...Belisle...Noonan = shots, which = goals, = Win.

I agree with Hockey = life they have more depth in firepower. Dont get me wrong, Anoka is no slouch for shooting talent. But Blaine just has more of it. Plus Lynch and Beaudette are just hands down skilled players. I also agree with bigsexy in that blaine has a problem of playing down to the level of the opponent. Sorry to say BigSexy, but Anoka's playing level is pretty darn close to Blaine's so there will be no slooping. This will be a very fast paced and high scoring game. Blaine on top 6-4, as I said before. By the way "speakingthetruth" it is "impress" not "inpress" as in, "your spelling doesn't impress me at all."

Blaine - Anoka Score

The final was 8-3 in favor of Blaine. It was a really close and good game until the 3rd period when Anoka lost it. It got really chippy and dirty, 2 game misconducts one on an checking from behind and than the goalie #31 got one for mouthing off after a hooking penalty was called behind is net. But until that point it was a really good game. After one it was 2-1 Blaine. Anoka came back to make it 3-3 in the second before Blaine went up 4-3 late in the second. The flood gates opened and Blaine scored 4 in the third to put this away. At one point I do beleive there were 3 minor penalities on Anoka within about a minute and 30 seconds also a game misconduct for checking from behind during that same period. So good clean game until the 3rd.

Eason's got quite the temper. He can be a real cheapshot sometimes. I'm pretty sure he took a cheap penalty when they played on tv last year.

It was a little surprising to see the refs let this game get out of control. There was a lot of subtle dirty play in the first 2 periods and it just got out of hand in the third. I would like to add that I would be honored to meet Mr. Eason(possibly in the parking lot) and let him know how to play the game with a little dignity. It was great to see him thrown out of the game after hacking Bengals after the play all game long. He also gave Schaber a shot to the mouth behind the play in the first (not sure how the refs missed that one when it was just the two of them behind the play and Mike is on the ice with his hands over his face). All in all Blaine made a statement last night.

Maybe Eason's just bitter for getting lit by Blaine all the time.

Bring a big bottle of sunscreen for him the next time they play each other. He'll probly need it.
Anoka vs. Blaine

This was a great game to watch...O'Neill, Scott & Olson led Anoka back from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits with 3 even strength goals ...the score was 4-3 Blaine until the last 5 minutes...Eason's behavior was out of line...no doubt...but he lost it after the ref's ignored Belisle and O'Neill being hauled down by defenders on consecutive early 3rd period rushes, then 10 minutes later, calling ticky-tack hooking penalties (when the game was on the line) on Anoka with 5 minutes to go, giving Blaine a 5x3 advantage, which Anoka almost escaped from...but a failed icing attempt led to Anoka being caught on a line change and Lynch (a great player)made them pay...and that was the game...the rest was meaningless, garbage.
BTW the "new standard of rule enforcement" has went out the window so far this season in terms of holding and interference calls...why they bothered to enforced then during the Elite League but not now during the HS season is really a joke.
Round one to Blaine...Congrats to them.

So what happend to Anoka's "Dominating" first line that people think they have while the whole team was led by the second line Jr. O'Neill 1g 2a 3p, So. Scott 1g 1a 2p, and So. Olson 1g 1a 2p?
Hats off to the Bengals on there 1-0 record in the series of I think three games coming down to section championship!

Anoka has enough talent with their first two lines that they split it up evenly.
puckhog99
How can you say that there evenly spread out with talent, when Noonan Belisle and Rush get scored on five times = -5, and O'Neill Scott and Olson only get scored on once or twice but still score three goals to make them = + 1 or + 2?
Wow you obviously show that you know nothing this game.....

Your stats are a little off (powerplay/penalty kill)........but thats ok, will let you feel smart. Besides the style of play changed after the 5th goal, if you know anything about hockey you'l know you play a bit more OFFENSIVE aka float to try and score when the game is out of reach WHICH would result in 3 MORE goals that would hurt a players plus minus even more. A person who bases a players talent on their plus minus of one game without looking at how this game ended up is a complete fool.
Blaine really is overrated, I guarantee they don't make it to the state tournament.

This was a very entertaining and exciting game to watch (with the exception of the last 5 minutes). The score does not reflect the level of play on the ice, the missed opportunities by both teams, great saves by both goaltenders and big hits by both teams. The rematch game(s) should be equally entertaining and then some. Blaine was the better team in this game and probably had more quality scoring opportunities than Anoka, but Anoka has enough talent and will be equal to the task in the next game. Blaine is not overrated - they are improving every game with their younger players becoming more comfortable with the higher level of play. They have scored 22 goals in their last three games with eight different players scoring in the Anoka game - I think that is pretty impressive.
Puck Hog 99 needs to get a clue

I think Puck Hog 99 needs to get a clue. I don't believe Blaine is over rated at all. I saw them against some great teams and they are very good. When they pounded Anoka, that was awful impressive, I thought Anoka was a great team also, but there goalie is terrible. If that is the best they have, they might want to consider bringing up a Pee Wee. He's a hack, and incredibly undisciplined, he cost them the game.

So whats it like over there at Anoka puck hog. I can see you are a little frustrated after the defeat this weekend. I'm not going to guarantee a Blaine State bid but they are just as talented, if not more so, than last year and they did ok. If we are gonna talk about overrated lets look at Anoka. The same team that lost to Blaine 8-3 also lost to Armstrong 4-1, a team that the Bengals also beat 8-3, a score that was closer than it should have been. The Tornadoes also just slipped by Wayzata 4-3. I really want to see them beat a team of some quality before I would put them back in the top 10.

First things first... I don't even think Anoka is that great of a team! I just hate how people talk on here like they know hockey when they really dont. Blaine is not that great of a team, this game really could have went either way. GET your facts straight before you talk AGAIN.... the Armstrong Anoka game was nothing but a battle of special teams, the entire game was powerplays and penaltie kills literally. Then the Wayzata game HAHa "barely slipped by" Anoka led 4-1 throughout third period, Wayzata scored two goals in the last 30 seconds... "barely slipped by"..........................
