FWIW - all those teams are very deserving of consideration for such a list, as are some others, but we could debate order indefinitely.

Breck's key matchup in the near future will be their Armstrong game, and after that Blake in early Jan. Two good tests less than a month apart. Will Breck be as strong without Haller? Goal production is down since she left the team mid-season.

Yes. well, let me clairify that. I use the rank 1-124 no matter class, to determine the value for SOS - average of all teams played rank. So, actually if you play the top 5 KRACh teams:

1 AHA
2 Breck
3 Crookston
4 RV
5 Bemidji

your SOS value is (1+2+3+4+5)/5 = 3 - some would argue that this should be 2.5, but everyone has the offset...

Time will tell but truth be told I hate playing Richfield. Their team is well coached, they are disciplined, they go hard the entire game every shift and are solid and more experienced now from a young core these past couple years.

The loss of Haller hurts greatly. I think she is one of the top D in the state as a Sophomore.

A schools are tough to judge, metro or outstate. The Pioneer Press, like one poster said - is having some fun!

The Richfield team did NOT play well last night and it was pretty obvious they (SLP) wanted the game more.

We really don't like playing Simley much either. They always are physical, pass the puck well and in general their size just gives us a lot of problems.

It will be interesting - we play each other in conference twice and are in the same section (which will be tough) and if any luck that section game will be the rubber match!

We just hope for good games vs Richfield and all our conf. foes. It's going to be interesting to see how the conf & section plays out for us as we have lots of good competition as always.

Just curious re: Breck, what happened to Haller?

I will go out on a limb and say Mahtomedi picks up first win of the year when they go against Richfield on Friday. Ratings are more about straight wins and loses and less about who you play.

She is now at Anoka and will sit out the 12 Varsity games. Word had it that she or her parents were not happy with ice time (3 sets of D). She is a solid player. Best of luck at Anoka.
