Actually, the ice surface at the DECC is only 190 x 85. It's a small sheet.

He does deserve better, I hope he gets some serious attention from some good schools. I've been around High School hockey in SE MN for twenty years and he's the best I've seen, better than DeBus who did quite well for the Gophers. I've got nothing against Schmitz and Lakeville, but without O'Brien they would have been nowhere the past few years. I am glad he stuck it out at Lakeville instead of moving along to the USHL or a better HS program though.

Edited by: <A HREF=

Better to be lucky than good, 2 five holes and 5 pipes. Don't forget to give Maida a little credit. 21 saves-21 shots.

You hit the pipe because you have very little to shoot at though, he plays good position. Maida did what he had to do, let's see what happens tommorrow night against a team with some offense though.

No, there was plenty of room on several of those, no reaction until the puck was already by him. A real weakness is his inability to play the puck, first goal could have been avoided if he had played the puck, rather than sitting in the net. Junior teams will shy away from someone that cant or doesn't play the puck. Stalock on the other hand probably plays it a little to much. If he does that against Breck, he will be playing it out of the net.

Lee

You have questioned East the entire year - so why shouldn't someone question if you are a true fan, especially since you are an alumni of hated East High School...you rarely have given east credit....the "new " coaching staff as you call them and more importantly the kids did a great job this year - 3rd in the state...Props to Hibbing - what a great run......very impressive....moorhead and centennial were the best two teams....great hockey.....
