Empire please tell me you are trying to stir something up here. I do like The Links for a little change of pace, something different from the norm, but Fox Hollow? With the "Changes" they've made over the last few years, and prices they continue to demand, I wouldn't put this into the top ten of metro, let alone state. The "walls" to keep out the water take away all the asthetics of the course. The finishing three holes should be blown up and remade. Three takes a nice picture, but four is worthless, five is a gimick, and six is saved only by the green.

Giants Ridge...very nice and not that pricey for what you get...yet.

I saw Bemidji Country Club on there. When I went to school there I had a membership and yes it is a very nice course, that one maybe a little too pricey for what you get there though.

I prefer to play mini golf. There is a less chance of driving a ball into a lake or a forest, but it can still happen at the mini golf course.
Grand Rapids-2006 State Runner Up

Sorry, we just called it the Country Club, left out the Town part. We also called Castle Highlands in Turtle River Buschwood in honor of Caddy Shack.

Golfed at Castle last summer when I was up there visiting...they fixed it up a bit. Some easy birdie holes on that course on the back nine.

Quote:
The Wilderness.............bar none

I assume you are talking about the Wilderness at Fortune Bay, and if you are, then yes, I absolutely agree. Of all the courses I've played it's my favorite by far. It also happens to be located on one of the best lakes in the state too, Lake Vermilion.

Ive never played it, but my dad who is not a long hitter, said that there is a ton of water and marshland, and you have to hit over it a lot. He didnt play too well I guess.

I've found Howard's Barn in Fifty Lakes to be an amazing course. The random shrubs growing in the middle of the fairways really add a new challenge to the game.
