I agree. I used to pick up tickets the day before and catch two games at Braemar and 1 at BIG or vice versa. I have a feeling I will be shut out this year and the same for the finals. I wish they would move the finals back to Mariucci.
The 2AA/6AA finals at Mariucci were awesome! They need to get back to playing there. Some of these semi-final games should go there too.
I've heard it said here before but can't remember the answer... how long Did Braemar and BIG sign up for hosting the finals for?
Hopefully not much longer

It’s easier to get State Tournament tickets than it is to get Section Finals tickets.

Props to section 4 for having one site for their tickets:

The best hockey may be down in the southwest metro right now, but judging by how convoluted their ticketing is, they don't want to make it easy for us to go to their games.

Here's the link for the Vanco search page:

https://www.vancoevents.com/us/search-events

Per the MSHSL site, tickets for the 2AA and 6AA finals went on sale to the schools at noon today and to the public, if available, at 9AM tomorrow. They suggest searching the Vanco site using either '2AA' or '6AA'. I'm guessing if any tickets are for sale at 9AM tomorrow they're going to be very limited.

I found these links which looks like they are the links each school received for their students/parents. All are sold out at the moment.

Wonder if they saved any tickets for the general public or if they really are sold out. These games should really at least be at Ridder, if not the Mariucci doubleheader like it used to be.

They really need to go back to the pre-Covid days for tickets. If someone wasn't Internet savvy, there's no way they are getting tickets to these games. Even for Internet savvy folks, it seems like a PITA to find links. Feels like an Easter egg hunt.

Between the labyrinthine ticketing systems and the small venues this is not a good thing for high school hockey. If they were playing the 2AA and 6AA finals in Mariucci, there'd be a good chance of a sellout, but at least the general public would have a shot at seeing these games in person. I used to catch as many section championships in person as I could when they played them at Mariucci and the Coliseum, but I haven't seen any since they moved out of those venues.

I hope UST's new rink serves as the Coliseum replacement for at least 4AA. I don't follow 5AA close enough to know whether Furniture and Things works for them as far as capacity is concerned but could be an option for them to play there. Going to St. Paul would be a little bit of a drive for 2AA and 6AA, but they might not have better options if the U plays hardball on rental fees.

Looks like FTEC has a listed capacity of 3200, which is the same as Aldrich. Elk also seems like a better location for the 5AA section final than playing down in Highland Park, imo.

It does indeed appear that they are really sold out.

If anyone out there's interested in watching a battle of two private schools for a tourney berth, here's the link for tickets to the 3AA championship game on Friday:

https://www.vancoevents.com/us/events/landing/40780

Per the link tickets will go on sale at noon today.

Props to section 4 for having one site for their tickets:

I take back my props to section 4 about the ticketing, as I just realized that you have to buy a ticket for each 4AA semifinal game on Wednesday. Per the ticketing site:

The arena will be cleared at the conclusion of the first game. If you have a ticket for the second game this evening, you must enter after the conclusion of the first game using your second game ticket. The second game will start 1 hour after the conclusion of the first. Admission for the second game will open once the arena has been completely cleared.

The Aldrich parking lot is going to be an unholy mess after that first game with people trying to leave and get in at the same time. And then there's the leaving and going back in if you want to see both games. I may just stay home and try to stream some of the championship games rather than deal with all that.

Have a feeling having no tickets available to the public might be a sign that 6AA and 2AA need to get into bigger venues ASAP

How many people are going to be outside the arena trying to scalp their printed tickets?

Thank goodness MNHockey.Tv runs a good product. Outside of the second period of Edina/BSM section semi being sucked into a black hole, and the Tonka/Edina regular season game at Pagel where they had the manual camera running and half the game was spent watching what the photographer next to the camera shot on his Nikon, it's been reliable.
