According to WDIO in Duluth, CEC defeated Duluth-Marshall 2-0 this evening.

Close until the end when the Elks scored a sloppy one and followed with an empty netter. I only watched parts but the Elks looked like the better team, more composed. Flake had some good moments but generally looked outmatched.

Any updates on the other 7AA games?

They have to keep playing hockey and shooting the puck. It is more embarrassing to your opponent if you play keep away and don’t play the game. I watched the 1st period and Coon Rapids was just outmatched in this one. 8-0 after one with shots 28-3. They hit 3-4 pipes and missed two wide open tap ins. Could have easily been in double digits after the 1st. Maple Grove can sure move the puck on that big sheet.

Maple Grove put their top 6 players in street clothes after the first period, then played four corners in the third period. My understanding is that Coon Rapids was without each of their top 5 d-men and both varsity goalies, plus 3-4 forwards for various reasons.

Can someone point me back to the right thread for the previous discussion of Roed post season eligibility issues?

4AA has a thread in which it was discussed. Turned out he got back to school a few days after the deadline for being post-season eligible.

Was at Braemar. Like Brodziak said above , Hornets manhandled Park , but freshman Josh Middleton kept Park in the game for 2 periods before the SOG math started to catch-up with him . Kid faced close to 60.

Wish we could get to PIC Saturday , but that matchup has been a tough ticket all year . Will head to PL instead for Tonka matchup,
guessing that might be the last of the year for us as metro section final tickets next week will get even tougher . Livestream will come in handy . First time in decades we won’t be in St Paul

Let's see, hermantown? Is hermantown some small village off by itself, somewhere between Duluth, Cloquet and Grand Rapids? Does hermantown have a hockey team? I'm sure if they had a worthwhile team they would want to display it on the biggest stage possible. No, little hermantown is irrelevant.

FYI: Parent of Coon Rapids player posted on Twitter that half of Coon Rapids team was missing due to a pre-planned vacation (it’s their spring break and I guess vacation was booked long before season was delayed/extended). Maple Grove’s top players were in street clothes after 1st period and half team joined them by 3rd period. MG did not celebrate any of their goals, so much so that the announcers for the livestream couldn’t tell if MG had scored or not. Coon Rapids parent said MG was classy in how they handled disparity in talent. I watched the livestream. The difference in talent was akin to a Peewee AA team playing a Squirt C team, even with only about half of MG team playing. MG spent much of 3rd period just passing it around the horn, playing keep away basically. It was an unfortunate situation but MG was not unsportsmanlike at all. I’m sure the livestream, which was broadcast by Coon Rapids cable access TV, is available somewhere if you want to watch it with your own eyes. MG is super deep and talented and could have scored 50 goals if they wanted to do so. They were not Richards at all in this situation, with even a Coon Rapids parent stating his appreciation. Move on.

Fair enough. Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like a terrible night for Coon Rapids. Hopefully, we'll get to see a rematch of the 2017 state quarterfinal in the 2021 state final.
