It must be St. Cloud.....of the 6 games (of 150+) canceled this weekend Apollo and Tech are two of them.
Nice game for Bemidji, a non traditional football opponent and a 5A vs 6A crossover game. I am glad they could both play instead of being idle.
Good Lord it will be cold.
Played in a few games in snow and sub 32 degree temperature.
We did have big robes that worked ok.
Senior year we had side line heaters that a local garage donated the use.
Bemidji should be ok against Edina. As long as they get off the bus and loosen up.

Caledonia knocks off #5 Chatfield 33-6. 71 in a row.
That ties the Warriors for #9 all time in the country. They should get to #7 this year. De La Salle out of Oakland California has the record at 151. A sandbagging private school fwiw.

Had football started on time this Friday would be the section championship games. Instead we still have two regular season games are still on the docket.
The MSHSL completely dropped the ball on this. All the projections were to have an increase in COVID in late October, not August or September.

Section 8 AAAAA
playoff should look like this..
Apollo at Sartell
winner versus Bemidji
Brained at Alex
winner at Moorhead
Wish there was a state - Moorhead would have a good chance and if upset by Bemidji they would do well.

In section 1 Class A has only 3 teams in the playoffs. 4A and 5A are playing place games only (first, third, and fifth) no playoffs. 2A has 4 teams but one hasn’t played since week 2.
In 6A they are playing down to 4 teams. Really? You can’t play 2 more games and have a state champ? God forbid Eden Prairie and Lakeville South play each other.

Texas is playing their top classes state championships next weekend.
We had no idea October would be colder than November and December. We could have used taxpayer paid for US Bank Stadium for weeks. The MSHSL is run by idiots.
Good grief, Northwestern was a good football team. Pat Fitzgerald may be the best coach in the country.....given you have actually read and write to get admission to Northwestern.....unlike Alabama.

Hopefully this year is back to normal.
The NCAA allowing players to make money will be the death nail in college sports as we once knew it.

July 1st I was assuming the 2021 football season was be as close to normal as the 2018 season. Now I give it a 25% chance. Hopefully the 2021 season is closer to last year’s abomination than something new or completely abandoned. I have my doubts we are returning to normal.

My fingers are crossed for a near normal season.

I watched Dr. Scott Gotlieb on CNBC this morning….he thinks we peak in 3 weeks or less. He had been pretty spot on for the last 20 months. That bodes well for a normal football season. I have far less hope for indoor sports this fall.
Walz says he won’t declare emergency powers again. The good is no state wide edicts, the bad is that leaves to inconsistency……say Rochester mandates masks and Owatonna doesn’t. Then what? This is what happened in Iowa during the basketball season.

Meh, my hope for a “normal” season is fading. We are tending to a bad place, break through infections are becoming an issue and Education Minnesota may be the most powerful entity in the state. IMHO unvaccinated people are a severe issue but not the only one.
We have about 2 weeks for the numbers to turn….Clinically I am seeing trouble in the near term. The UK went through this pretty speedily and efficiently in about 3 weeks, hopefully we do the same.

As of August 14th, the New York State Department of Education becomes the first state to advocate against football being played. Now that someone became the first more states will follow.
